Give & Take

I think it was a really great thing that Marce spent that week and a half at my mom's place. He is now all of the sudden going down to bed and staying in bed. We do his routine and I tuck him in and give him a kiss and then I leave, and before he would come out over and over again, until finally I had to shut his door and he would cry himself to sleep for about 5 minutes. Now I leave after tucking him in and he doesn't come out, it's great. He has not had to have the door shut since he got back as far as I can remember, which is a complete turn around, I mean all the sudden. AMAZING
The flip side of this is a bit annoying. Since he got back he has been so much more sensitive and crying more. Not tantrums, but like he'll actually get sad more and tear up more and start to cry like that, and sometimes out of the blue like I don't even know why he's crying and then you have to get him to tell you what he wants or what's wrong, I feel like I'm raising a little girl now. Where is my tough, defiant Marce? Maybe this is just a terrible two thing, and he does still have tantrums, believe me but this is different, it's like a sad sob cry. It is very annoying though esp. when I don't know what the reason is...Marce hardly ever cried before. He would cry from tantrums or being mad, but not sad, it's really different I guess and hopefully this lifts and the sleeping thing continues. He does still wake up in the night sometimes but even that has been significantly reduced. I think I'm getting an answer to my prayers and Marce is graduating to becoming a much better sleeper right in time for Phoenix to come...cause you know he'll be up in the night breastfeeding all the time.
All in all I think it's a good trade, this sleeping vs. crying...but the crying still kind of confuses me, I'm not used to that.

Very interesting on the crying stuff. Could be part of the terrible two's thing. Time will tell.

Hooray! After two years...he sleeps! Oh, and Bennett has done the same thing recently, but with his, you can tell he's crying for show. Watch out, it could get worse after Phoenix arrives.

Lexie, great to hear from you. Congrats on the soon to be, new member of the family-Phoenix. That is so exciting.
I am looking forward to hearing the Willards play at the fair next year. That will be great.
And the shoes. You really must get a pair. They are the best shoes I've ever had...so comfy.
Thanks for finding me and writing. It is great to be in contact.
Hope all goes well for you. Take care of yourself. Hope to hear from you again soon.
