Can I get a little TV relief?

I am bored out of my whits! After taking Marcelus on a stroller walk til dark, I surf the web while he watches a movie, but then what? Why is basic cable so crappy? It's not really cable at all, it's basic channels plus a few religious ones, a few spanish ones, and a couple political ones. There's basic cable, thank goodness it's free with HOA (don't even get me started on HOA!)
Anyway, what is the deal with having "Everybody loves Raymond" or "Scrubs" on two different channels at the same time,...what a waste. No offense to some of these lame shows like "Malcome in the Middle" and "Seinfeld", luckily "King of Queens" is starting soon. The Suns don't play agin until tomorrow night, I did find a bit of a joke on PBS. The Osmonds in Concert - Oh goodie. I would actually buy a ticket if it were their Christmas stuff. But it wasn't, it was a complete cheese fest. But...you gotta love 'em. But, I was dissapointed as they did not do my favorite song "Proud One", or at least not while I was watching, Thank goodness tomorrow is Tuesday, even if it won't be a complete blast.

You know, we've had Direct TV and Tivo for well...years. And I don't think I could ever go back. Some people say you'll watch more tv that way...but NOT so. We watch efficient TV. I can get through 3 hours of the Today Show in about 20 minutes. I breeze through Martha. I tivo random PBS shows that I may like, or may not (but it doesn't matter, cause it's tivo'd). We tivo movies (so we don't have to do Netflix or rent from BB), and there's ALWAYS a show ready for Lucy to watch when I need it (Sesame Street, Backyardigans, Yo Gabba Gabba).
I know it's more of a cost than basic cable. But we spend about $50/month on our TV watching. I think it's funny when some of my friends pay about $400 more than us on rent or spend $20/month on netflix, but they have no TV (cable, etc) and say they just can't afford it. To each their own. But seriously, the benefits of tivo (or a DVR) are SOOOOO great!
Okay, sorry, that didn't really answer your post. I guess I just felt like plugging Satellite TV.

I don't have cable, but I love Seinfeld and Scrubs. Looks like we have different "t.v." tastes.

If you have a fast internet connection, you can watch TV shows online. That is what I do. Since we don't have cable or regular TV. Here are some of the sites:
http://www.cwtv.com/cw-video
http://www.cbs.com/innertube/player.php?cat=all&vid=&format=&auto=0
click on full episodes
http://www.nbc.com/
click on watch video
http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing?lid=ABCCOMGlobalMenu&lpos=FEP
http://www.fox.com/fod/
http://www.byutv.org/
You can even watch BYU TV
http://www.youtube.com/
You can look up shows, music videos, etc on youtube.
Each network has many shows to choose from. I like watching shows online because I can watch them on my time and most of the time with fewer commercials. I hope this helps.
