I think it was a really great thing that Marce spent that week and a half at my mom's place. He is now all of the sudden going down to bed and staying in bed. We do his routine and I tuck him in and give him a kiss and then I leave, and before he would come out over and over again, until finally I had to shut his door and he would cry himself to sleep for about 5 minutes. Now I leave after tucking him in and he doesn't come out, it's great. He has not had to have the door shut since he got back as far as I can remember, which is a complete turn around, I mean all the sudden. AMAZING
The flip side of this is a bit annoying. Since he got back he has been so much more sensitive and crying more. Not tantrums, but like he'll actually get sad more and tear up more and start to cry like that, and sometimes out of the blue like I don't even know why he's crying and then you have to get him to tell you what he wants or what's wrong, I feel like I'm raising a little girl now. Where is my tough, defiant Marce? Maybe this is just a terrible two thing, and he does still have tantrums, believe me but this is different, it's like a sad sob cry. It is very annoying though esp. when I don't know what the reason is...Marce hardly ever cried before. He would cry from tantrums or being mad, but not sad, it's really different I guess and hopefully this lifts and the sleeping thing continues. He does still wake up in the night sometimes but even that has been significantly reduced. I think I'm getting an answer to my prayers and Marce is graduating to becoming a much better sleeper right in time for Phoenix to come...cause you know he'll be up in the night breastfeeding all the time.
All in all I think it's a good trade, this sleeping vs. crying...but the crying still kind of confuses me, I'm not used to that.

Willard Family Band

My immidiate family has a band, we have no name. I guess you could just call us the Willards, or something...anyway, it's hard cause were all apart and spread out between Maricopa, Mesa, Vegas area, Provo...
We've performed in front of my mom's family at my Grandpa's family cabin. That was the first time and I was 20. It was the summer before I got married. We then performed again for my mom's extended family up at a family reunion for about 800 people! That was fun and we got to play 2 shows for that one. After that we decided we might as well perform for my dad's side at our annual Thanksgiving reunion. That was probably about 100-150 people.
So we've performed 4 times I guess. I called my mom yesterday to chat and she told me that it was decided that we play at the Clark County Fair (held in my hometown) next April. My dad works for the Fair and my mom helps out with one of the stages and has perormed at the Fair a lot of times on this stage. My mom and Kira are compiling the songs we'll be playing and then they'll send everybody a cd of them, and then we get started at learning our parts. My mom sings lead and plays piano/keyboard, Connie sings back up and handles all the percussion, Kira plays guitar, I play the bass, Michaela plays the drums for us.
This year it's possible Michaela could be on a mission, and if she is then we'll have Landon (my little brother) or Peter (Connie's husband) pick up the slack. My little sister Tibi might help sing back ups, and Connie will probably take a song on the bass, which will allow me to play the drum set! It's all confusing I know, but most of us play multiple instruments. I played the drums for 7 years in school and in college picked up the bass, so I've just been playing the bass for the past few years. So we might end up playing musical chairs a little. My dad always handles the sound equipment, he's our techy! ha ha
I'm excited to find out what songs we'll be doing. I'm nervous though because I'll be trying to learn them while trying to take care of 2 kids, one of which will be pretty demanding this year. I'm sure it will be a great thing and I'm excited to perform again. I love it, it's so fun. So anyone reading this from Moapa Valley, look for us next year at the Fair!
My little family isn't going to the fair this year, because I'm too pregnant, so I'm excited that we'll be going next year guaranteed! I can't wait for the food, it's my favorite part! mmmmmm Fair food.....

Pictures of my haircut

Well, here's the pictures. I'm watching my friends 4 year old boy today. I think it's going to be great for Marce so I actually leapt at the chance. Anyway I asked her if she thought my hair was more brown or red when she said she liked it this morning. She said it definately has a lot of red in it and she described it as a dark strawberry blonde. To me strawberry blonde is blonde and light red mixed, so I thought that was kind of interesting, I think it's more Auburn, which is brown and red mixed. Who knows what it is, it's my natural color and it's just plain weird!Wednesday, March 26, 2008

Our Focus is gone...
It was a good car, our 2003 Ford Focus, but we knew we were on a deadline with Phoenix coming. Here's the deal. Sharrid is so tall that with the Focus, (and lots of other cars) No one can fit behind him cause his seat is all the way back. Phoenix' car seat would not fit in back of him, nor would Marcelus'. So, although we would have loved to keep our car (good gas mil., low payment, ect.) we had to trade it. It did have 124,000 miles on it, but we had never had any problems with it, just maintenance like oil changes, alternator, battery, and new tires. So, it was a good car for us and we will always be grateful for that. It was our first car as a married couple also.
But, yesterday we decided to look at a few cars. We knew we had until mid April as we did not want to register our car right before we traded it. I told Shar I could not go car shopping this next Monday, too many errands, so we looked yesterday and it was really hard because our car had suck low payments, we owed more on it than it was worth, so it was actually hurting us, but we had to trade it. We have no use for 2 cars. (I can't drive) We were totally open because of this to every option. As long as Shar fit comfortably and it accomidated our family (the car seats).
We ended up at a Honda place in Mesa. Shar sat in a few cars, and we eventually came away with what we had hoped to get from the very beginning. We got a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. We have been looking at this car in particular because of how much room was behind Shar's seat. Either of the boys can fit behind him and even another grown man, YAY! So it has 3rd row which we don't even have to use yet and we can just have the seats down for plenty of room on road trips or for grocery's and stuff. I like it a lot and when I turn around to look at Marce he seems so far away now, it's really roomy. I think it will be a great family car, and since I've been thinking of having 4 kids, it would house all of them so I know we could keep this car for a good amount of time which is great, no more "deadlines" unless we want to. The worst part about this is that my sister Connie has the same car, same color, White. It doesn't bother me at all, but Con, just so you know, we're not trying to "keep up" with you guys. ha ha Ours has a few bars on the top, like a roof rack I guess, and it has chrome rims, they are pretty shiny, I like that. It's a great looking car and the sound system inside is great and I like the power seats too...(our Focus was pretty standard)...anyway so we got a new car and I can focus on other things now...
Yesterday I also got my hair cut, it's super short, but it will grow fast because of the Prenatals. The one thing about it though that is crazy to me is that ok let me set you up here: I cut my hair short and dyed it real blonde right...then let it grow out so my roots could show, I kept letting it grow and it turned into the mop (see previous posts) ok, now yesterday I get it cut and so all the blonde is gone...you with me, But here's the crazy part...my hair is red! My natural hair! I noticed last time I cut my hair to reveal the natural that I had a lot of red in my hair, I wasn't sure how I felt about that. I've always been dirty blonde, and most recently light brown, but now, RED! Well, it's auburn anyway with a few blonder peices, but I really don't know if I like it. I was expecting the light brown, but it's way more red this time, is it because of the pregnancy? My sister of course has red hair and she got it from my mom, who used to be more red but then turned blonde. No one else in my family has ever had red hair though besides them! I'm a little self conscious about it....I could always dye it, but I didn't plan to for a while. It's so great on my sister but I guess I'm not used to it for me, it was just a shock, but I'll get over it and it's probably not as red as I see it is, I will post a picture in a while though, I haven't taken any.
I'll post a picture of our new car too when I get a chance...

Say goodbye, or Sneak out?
Marce has had to get used to a new room, and new teachers for Nursery but is now getting back to where he used to be, good for the most part about going to Nursery. I have always just pretty much snuck out because I thought that was the easiest thing to do, now I'm not so sure though if it's the BEST thing to do. If Marcelus is going to be good about going and staying and me leaving then I think it would be curtious and not so rude if I formally say goodbye. I just don't want him to cry and everything, when I could still just sneak out. He doesn't cry when he realizes I'm gone either so it's kind of like "why mess with a good thing?" right? I don't know, there's a poll to the right, and you can comment any further thoughts below...
A light at the end of the tunnel...A breakthrough...or...a fluke...
After Marce got back, we experienced some things that have never happened before...First, Marcelus took a 3 hour nap one day! My mom said he did that once at her house too, I was shocked! Then, that night we went through our bed time routine and of course Marce sauntered out of bed, then I put him back...the same thing every night, BUT after I put him back, he stayed! I don't know if he was just too tired to rebel, or if he really is learning it's better to just go to sleep and not have to have the door closed. That night he slept all the way through the night, and the next night he slept all the way through the night again!
I think he should go to my mom's more often!! But, I really don't know if it's a light at the end of the tunnel, a breakthrough, or a complete fluke...he did get up in the night last night? It's all going to take some time, but it makes me wonder...

Marcelus' Homecoming

Yesterday was the day, and it was a good day. To start it off, Connie and her kids came over in the morning to spend the day with me. Levi was such a great baby as always and played on his own nearly all day. The other kids did pretty well too. Levi took a pretty hefty nap also. Connie and I watched a little of the March Madness going on (I can't get enough and it's on channel 5 all day!) and we also tinkered around with the 2 Nintendos Shar recently set up. Jonah even tried to play Super Smash Bros. with us on the 64. He and Eden kept laughing at the screen, they thought it was funny.
Meanwhile my mom and Landon were traveling in with Marce. Mom picked Peter up at work and Connie, me, and her kids met them at Chandler Mall for dinner. They beat us there and as we were walking in, I had Jonah and Eden by the hand. Marcelus walked straight to Eden and gave her a huge ("I missed you so much") bear hug! Marce really likes to play with Eden and he always says her name when he sees her pictures. I was wondering if he didn't see me and made sure to look at him. I thought he'd come running to me with an open armed hug...I was mistaken. He was sure glad to see Eden and Jonah though. Ha, no I got a hug out of him eventually and I could tell he was happy to be back in AZ, happy to see mommy, and happy that everyone (except daddy) was there together. Marce was really happy I could tell, and I held him and walked around the Food Court. I got him a happy meal and sat him down with his food. He was sitting right in the middle of the table surrounded by everyone and I could see that he was just beaming inside. I got a really yummy burrito at Rubio's, and after we ate, we went to the Play area for the kids. They loved running around and had great energy. We'd often find they were together amidst plenty of kids. I'm so happy Marcelus and Phoenix can have cousins near by. It makes life for them and for us as parents so much more tolerable. We then went to look at the doggies in the Pet store and then headed down the escalators (Marce is obsessed with them) to get a chocolate at See's Candies. I got a Dark Scotch Mallow. Marce got a V-word (vacuum) show as we sat and ate our choc., the lady was vacuuming the rug we were over. We then seperated from Connie and Pete and kids, and drove home. Landon played a bit of Nintendo, and mom and I got to talk a bit. Mom and Lan left this morning before 10.
It will be good to be home all day with Sharrid tomorrow for Easter. The Easter Bunny might be a little delayed getting to our house. I think he said he'd show up Monday night, but he said he had his reasons...
Monday I am so excited to be 30 weeks along and to chop this mop I've got. I get a hair cut! Should be an enjoyable day and I'm going to need the week ahead to gear up for next monday: Dr. appt. for pregnancy, Target studio pics for Marce and the whole nine yards. We get to go car shopping the first couple weeks of April, so I'm looking forward to that too, mainly to just get it over with...
Anyway, life is crazy, life is good, Shar is happy Marce is back, as am I - BIG Thank You to my mom for taking care of Marcelus while I was sick and on the mend, and then some! It was a nice break and we're glad to have him back. He brings so much happiness to us. We can't wait for more of that with Phoenix!

Marcelus coming!

Marcelus gets back Tomorrow!! I am so excited to see him and give him a huge hug. I know he will make me tired til Phoenix comes and I feel bad also that he will be cooped up in the house probably more than if he were at grandma's, but I am so excited to have him back too.
Besides it won't be so bad because until Phoenix comes we will go to the park a lot with my new friends and their kids, and we can go swimming in my friends community pool too when it get warmer...I'll try to get him out as much as possible. And, after Phoenix is born my mom will be here to help keep Marce entertained and Marce will like to help with Phoenix and hold him too, which will keep him busy til I am ready to get back in the groove of things.
I really don't want a C-section. I don't want to have that kind of recovery, not with two kids...my mom can't stay forever, and I am already a little nervous about taking care of my kids well now that I'll have 2. Thank goodness for Shar's days off, Sunday & Monday.
Welcome Home Marcelus!

Finally...something good.
Yesterday I had my first filling of my life. Because I'm pregnant they numbed me a different way than giving me a shot in the mouth. It went well and he said there was only a 5% chance that I'd still need a root canal on the tooth. He did say there was a 50% chance I'd need a root canal on it in the next 5-10 years. I have to get 3 more cavities filled but not til after I have the baby. So I scheduled them for July. He said he wanted to give me laughing gas for them because I am a gagger. That sounds good to me. Anyway I should be all done with dental work by the end of the summer just in time to get a cleaning in the fall...

Today I had a 30 week Ultrasound for Phoenix and everything is good. The only thing they were concerned about is that he was breech. They told me of a position I can do to try and make him move head down and they said at 36 weeks, I will get another Ultrasound to make sure he's in head down position to deliver. I really don't want a C-section. My friend told me all about her recovery. In the Ultrasound, the lady clocked me 10 days ahead of my due date (again), so I have reason to believe I will have him in May. We got some 3D pictures of his face, but they aren't quite as good as last time, I think cause he's bigger. My next appt. is a reg. appt. and it's on March 31st, Monday, basically not this Mon. but next. I will be 31 weeks along, but if we were going by my Ultrasound I'd be almost 33! I kind of wish they would change my due date but whatever...
The best part of this whole post is that I do not have to attempt the Glucose test again. I told her what happened and everything and she said that what she needed me to do didn't involve any orange drink and I was fine with that. I have to go to the clinic in the morning without eating and give blood, perfect, and then on another occasion I have to eat a decent lunch, wait two hours and then go to the clinic and give blood. So, a fasting draw of blood, and a two hour fasting draw of blood. She said if those come back normal then I am fine. She said my 1 hour test was high but just barely over the mark to make me take the 3 hour test. I'm pretty sure I don't have it...but I have no problem giving a little blood. Way easier than giving blood, not eating, and drinking a huge nasty orange drink, all the while waiting for hours.
Here's a few pics from the Ultrasound today. BTW, what appears to be a hair line on his head is not in fact hair, the lady said it just does that to where it looks like it is but it's just the way the cameras and stuff lighten or darken areas...

Nightmare
My glucose test turned out exactly how I should have known it would. What was I thinking? I was just trying to be tough and positive, but reality kicked me in the face yesterday as I tried to complete something that I well knew my body could not do.
I had a 7 am appt. but was made to sign in and wait like everybody else, what is the point of having an appt.? Anyway so finally I get started, I'm fasting this whole time keep in mind, and they first draw blood. Then they gave me the nasty drink. I got it down and began to feel the terrible effects as I tried to lean against Sharrid and be as still as possible listening to my iPod to try and make me think of other things. It was awful. Then an hour later, the 2nd blood draw. I managed to not pass out, but asked for a bed in the back room to lay on. I went to the bathroom and headed for the back. If I thought I was going to try and sleep off the next hour I was wrong. I lay on my side for a total of 60 seconds probably, before I told Shar I was sick climbed off the bed, grabbed the trash and threw up the entire Orange drink. Now, the test was ruined and no results. I was pissed but not surprised. I was crying, not so much from throwing up but because this whole morning I had put my body through the worst, and for nothing.
They called my dr. office well headquarters anyway because I didn't know who specifically ordered the 3 hour test, and the girl (who didn't know me from Adam) just said to have me come back on another day...UH NO, I'M NOT COMING BACK...til next pregnancy!! Have a nice day goodbye! What do they expect to happen? If I hadn't thrown up, I would have passed out before the test was through. I still had to give blood 2 more times and survive 2 more grueling hours! I know my body and it's not going to happen. I have an Ultrasound on Wed. and I will gladly refuse to do it again and tell them my situation. There's no point in trying it again. I failed miserably and I wasn't even half way through it. They can treat me as if I've got GD if they want to, I will comply, but I will not take the Glucose test again. I'll take my chances without it. I probably don't even have it anyway. This nightmare will definately be the highlight of Phoenix Pregnancy...I hope! After being in the Hospital with the worst sickness I've ever had, and then I recover and try and pull a stunt like this...What is it with pregnant woman thinking they're invincible! What was I thinking? Anyway, I hope things calm down for me, I can just have a relaxing normal last 10 (or less!) weeks of pregnancy, and I can have a healthy baby and get on with life.

By the way here's a few candid pics. Marce loves to do chores and here he is. He's gotten a hold of my mop...and dad set the Nintendo up the other day. We just need a power cord and we'll be able to have the DVD, VCR, old school Nintendo, and the N64 all set up at the same time! That will be fun.

A line haircut

It seems that every woman in my ward has a drastic A line haircut! My RS pres., her daughter, and a handful of other girls. They are something to see aren't they? The ones I see are very drastic, very short in the back, chin length in the front, ratted to the ceiling up at the crown, and highlighted to boot! Wow, I could hardly pay attention in RS last Sunday as I was sitting right in back of an A line I just described. It must be the popular thing right now...at least in Maricopa...but if I'm remembering correctly my gal that cuts my hair has an A line. I have a haircut in a week so I'll see if she still has it. I've had this blonde mop for a while now as it's been growing pretty good from the Prenatals, but I'm ready to chop it again and all the blonde will be gone. I will keep my natural hair color for as long as I can stand it, then go blonde again, or dark brown. I'm excited to get it cut though. Some days it's a little out of hand. Anyway, here are some pregnancy pics Shar snapped outside on our drive just yesterday. I still feel bigger than these pictures reveal. Also, check out the new profile pic of Shar to the right. What a good lookin' guy! Well, he was growing a Gotee, but this morning confessed to me that he'd just shaved it all! Argg, I at least wanted him to try it, and it was his idea in the first place, he says it's uncomfy when it is growing, well yeah but after that it's not. I guess he just can't get over the hump...oh well.

Upcoming week...
I am officially at 100% now. And now it will be weird to not have Marce around. I've missed him the last few days even though I know he is so well taken care of and he's probably loving it at Grandma's because he doesn't have a lot of variety thrown into his life here. It's a great vacation for him. But, I was saying that I've missed him the last few days but have been very grateful that he was away because I really couldn't take care of him. Now that I'm better, and he is still going to be gone for another week, it will be very weird. I really don't even know what to do or where to start to even think about what to do to utilize this time best. Unfortunately, I probably won't do anything out of the ordinary. But, it's ok because I can pretty much always have him go to my mom's so when I am ready to do something that would be easier without Marce (for example, paint my house), I still can later.
I do have a few things to do this week. Monday first thing I am doing my 3 hour glucose test....bring it on! After that I am hoping to get a haircut...Tuesday, after 24 years of a perfect record, I have 2 fillings to get at the Dentist, and 2 more on the other side to get on another day (hee hee). Wednesday I have a 30 week Ultrasound for Phoenix and the results of my Glucose test. Then pretty much nothing til my mom comes with Marce on Monday. My mom will stay the night and take Marce and I into town to get his pictures done at Target YAY! Then she will head out...and at that point we will be a week away from April! Phoenix is coming soon, and I just hope I can feel like I've got a handle on things and am prepared for him, which includes buying a new car! AAAHHH! So much to do, so little time! Ha
Things will totally work out, there's just a million things I'm trying to do/buy in the next couple months, it's crazy! On a happy side note, we got a letter in the mail from the IRS saying they are for sure going to send out that check we've all been hearing about in May, so Yippey for money! That'll be nice.

I feel better!
I feel pretty good today. I took it easy and just wrote out bills, blogged, and I was able to shower and actually go to the store with a friend for a few things. Right when I got sick we needed to go to the store and clean our house, so this whole week of course there's been nothing to eat and the house has been a dump. I think I'll be able to pick up a bit tomorrow and have Sharrid help me on Sunday with the dishes and stuff. I am totally planning on going to church unless I regress. I have been eating a lot better yesterday and even better today! I'm not so weak and my stomach hasn't bothered me since yesterday morning. Things are def. looking up. This is sick but I actually didn't have the strength to shower til today, which means I hadn't showered since Tues. morning! Today in the shower I noticed just in 3 days or whatever it was that my belly got bigger, I thought it was funny.
100 Things About Sharrid...by Lexie
1. Sharrid is the 3rd of 4 boys-he also has a step sister and step brother, but have only met them a couple times.
2. Sharrid is a very easy going, kind of quiet guy, but he told me that he was a mouthy, attitude kid/teen.
3. He grew up in L.A. and in Stockton CA.
4. He and his brothers used to roam the streets looking for odd jobs to do for money.
5. While trying to pump gas at a gas station (for money) about 8-10 yrs. old, the manager and Shar got into a fight. Shar got hit in the back of the elbow with a mop stick. His arm cracks really loud now.

Update
today is Thur. and I have been on the couch a lot, talking on the phone, ect. I was able to eat dinner today that had been brought over, I just hope it doesn't make me sick later. I really would like the strength to shower but don't want to chance more weakness and breathing problems. I think I'll take a bath tonight. I'm upset that PHX Suns play tonight but it looks like I don't get the game. I miss Marcelus but am happy he is having a good time with grandma. I'm glad that my parents can get to know him better and spend quality time with him. They will have him until the 24th or 25th. So 2 weeks instead of just one! He will be able to go to St. George with my family for a weekend and even celebrate Easter with them. Maybe if I get better I can actually get some things done, or go somewhere that would normally be hard to do with Marce...
I wish I could have some company but don't want to get anybody sick, so I talk on the phone instead. This flu is very inconsistant. I feel pretty good right now but may not tonight or tomorrow. I felt decent on wed. but had a terrible night wed. night. It's really weird, I'm trying to focus on drinking enough right now. So, there's my update, I'll post again prob. tomorrow.

Down and Out

The glucose test is now the least of my worries...
I caught the flu that Sharrid had. It was not like any other flu I've had. I never threw up, and didn't have much of the "other" flu either, but I felt sick in the stomach to where it was a dull pain. I was really weak and really didn't eat anything or drink much at all on Mon.
Tuesday I took a turn for the worst, I had an OB appt. that morning but I could barely get ready for it. I was having a hard time breathing and I couldn't stand or walk for very long without being completely out of breath and my legs hurting. My body hurt all over and my chest was hurting from not being able to breath well. I had never experienced anything like it before. In the waiting room at my appt. I was trying not to cry but was having a hard time breathing still. When I got in, the baby was fine, and I mostly talked to them about me, I had them check my heart and lungs. As far as they could tell everything was fine but they sent me to Labor & Delivery in Chandler to make sure I didn't have a blood clot in my lungs. I didn't know what to think because I had not had a flu like this before and it was the worst sickness I've ever had. We checked me in at the Hospital, where they monitered Phoenix and myself and asked a lot of questions trying to figure it out. Phoenix was such a trooper through the last few days when I was really eating and drinking nothing. He was moving all around as usual. I felt awful the whole day and uncomfortable in some of the beds I was in. I was really miserable and couldn't think of a worse feeling in all my life. They were really nice in Labor & Delivery but wanted more evaluation, so they transferred me into the ER. While in the ER between waiting in bed, they gave me an EKG, X-ray of my lungs, and a Cat Scan. I was so weak during the X-ray, I could barely stand up long enough to take it. The only thing I was able to eat in the Hospital was a few Saltine crackers. I went in for the Cat Scan and they put something in my IV that made me very hot all of a sudden, if you know me, I thought I was going to pass out, but they got done and pulled me out of it just in time for me to throw up. All the results from all the testing came back good. The doctor eventually told me that from the flu I could have an upper respiratory disease or infection or something. They let me go last night at about 7. I don't think I ever felt closer to death then yesterday and I think this is just a really weird flu that for me at least if I exert myself even just a little bit, I start to have the breathing problems, so I just need to lay down the whole time, not do anything and try and eat and drink what I can. I hope it passes soon. Towards the end of the ER stay I got something in my IV that was an anti nausea medicine that really helped the pain in my stomach so I felt much better and asked them to give me a perscription for it.
I have an Ultrasound this Wed. for Phoenix and I really need to get the glucose test done before that. So, I'm hoping to re-coop through this weekend so I can do it on Tues. We decided to help me through this week that Marcelus would go to my mom's for about a week or so. I felt like I was going to be better off on Tues. then Mon. but I sure wasn't so I never know what phases this flu will bring, so we sent him off today with Shar to meet her half way. We've been meaning to have him go and stay a while anyway just for fun so now is the time. I just need to really rest and get back to normal to finish up this pregnancy strong...
He will have a great time with my mom and Tibi, and Kit (dog) and Cat (the cat). He probably needs to get out and experience a new place and new people anyway. I do my best with him here but I think he'll really enjoy this. Hopefully my family can figure him out and communicate well with him. I'm sure it will be fun for them all. I'm happy for him.
Sharrid said that in the next couple days he's going to deeply clean and disinfect our house...probably a good idea since we've been sick. Shar is a really good cleaner too, he used to work with a lady who had her own business. Anyway...
It was really sureal being in the ER all day. I never have been in there and there were cutained off little sections everywhere with little beds in them, people on roller beds and wheelchairs lining the hallways (including me) there was a main desk in the middle of everything that had a bunch of flat screen moniters hanging from the roof around the desks. I had a bunch of stuff attached to me. An IV, a blodd pressure band, something on the end of my finger, stickers all over from the EKG ...you name it. They put little double sided slipper socks on me and a robe of course. It was really one of the worst days of my life just because of the way my body felt. It was painful and tiring and achy and miserbale, even though the Hospital took care of me.
So, if anybody is wondering about me, this is the latest and in the next week, I will be relaxing here at home, on the couch re-cooping. I will be able to sit and blog, read, and watch movies. I'm already eating and drinking better today, but we'll see what happens, I might get a blessing tonight. I can't wait until I'm better.
The picture of the green room above shouldn't be here in this post sorry, and the other picture is basically everything but me on the bed, yesterday...except for my room was much smaller and had a curtain divider between me and another girl...

Update...
First off, if you haven't noticed I added individual profiles on my blog to the right. Secondly I stopped being lazy and added all of you as family or friends blogs, to the right.
I did not go in and do my glucose test today, I just couldn't. I have the flu and am needing to be at the top of my game for the test. I feel horrible most of the time. It came on sunday night and I knew what was coming. I have not thrown up, but Marce only did once and Shar hasn't either. It's more of the "Other" kind of flu but even that's not bad. You just FEEL like you want to throw up sometimes, and have a really achy body which is doubled for me since I'm pregnant. My back hurt so bad last night. Anyway so now I'll have to reschedule my test some time in the next week. I still have my dr. appt. tomorrow hoping I can go to it and then have another in a week for the results of the test. I might have to reschedule the dr. appt. too, I don't know. Sharrid is still feeling bad, but he says it's cause he hasn't let his body re-coop fully. Marce is perfectly fine and was all the time, even though he threw up once and then had diarea. Sharrid said on Tuesday he is going to disinfect the whole house. Prob. wouldn't hurt I guess.
Anyway so, no test yet and it sure is making this situation drag on. I did not ask for the test to dissapear, I asked to be able to survive it, but an unexpected loop in my plan of course. I hope to feel well soon, but I'm on the couch mostly. It's weird to have the flu and be big and pregnant. I really haven't before, but it's like not only your stomach feels queesy, your whole belly kind of does. It's not fun, and my body aches, and I can't wait til it's over.

A few things...
Church was good, the usual. But a few funny things. We sang called to serve in Sac mtg. and the organist was pretty slow. I knew right off the bat that the bass pedal was what was slowing her down. I had to kind of laugh in my head, a kind of "when will she figure it out" type of laugh. You see, my mom is the best piano player/organist I know personally. She is also the most natural player, she has instincts and rythmn, and it's just really natural for her. She rarely ever makes mistakes, and if she does they are subconscious "feather brained" mistakes. Having said that, I know that my mom does not use the bass pedals when she plays at all. I'm sure she has at some points but she doesn't use them. She says they are unnessesary and that the songs sound even better without them, more light...I agree. Unless you've got an organ like the one in the conference center, she's right. I knew that if this girl in my ward had just disregard the bass pedals, we'd have sang the song at tempo...it was just kind of a "think of my mother" moment. Sadly the way it dragged and emphasized the bass, it sounded more like a low rider bumping down the street...
In relief society, our practice hymn lady tends to want to school us in music. She proceeds to tell us what a quarter note is and how many beats it gets with a 4/4 time signature, and on and on...and I'm thinking, I'm so bored I learned this in grade school, and those who don't know by now, don't care! I felt like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber when the girl is talking his ear off in the bar..."...and do you know what he did?" (she laughs) "No, and I don't CARE!!" They stopped giving the announcements in RS and said to just refer to the agenda we get every week, for a reason...there goes the time saved for the lesson,...thanks practice hymn lady...
Last time at the park, Marcelus all the sudden booked it toward the street. I am 28 weeks preggo, and sitting on the grass. I get my fat butt up and had no choice but to run all out to catch him. I ran about 40 yards I'd say and caught him just before he reached the street, Scary. From then on, I trailed his tail the whole time. I can't wait til we get a backyard in (no time soon I'm afraid) I felt bad for Phoenix but worse for the people on the biggest loser...now I know kind of what it feels like to run when fat. Not fun...
Marce is doing something pretty cute right now...he punches the air in front of him with his index finger out while shouting "GO!" and then he jets off in a full out run. You have to be there to really see how cute it is...
Well, last but not least. Wish me luck tomorrow and say a little prayer. If I don't pass out it will be a real proud moment for me. I was thinking the last few days of how wimpy I feel and scared and nervous and all that, but then I was thinking...I'm going to be tough, whatever man, I'm going to just go in there, hold my belly high, and think to myself, this is nothing...I got this, no big deal...and whatever happens happens. But...I'm still going back between both of those mind sets. Whatever the mind set going in tomorrow, the real results will be what they will be. This is not mind over matter, it's body over matter, so it really doesn't matter. Either way, wish me luck.

Random
Marcelus woke up in the middle of the night (common) and came to me, then threw up. Sharrid has had cold like symptoms mixed with the feeling of the flu (he NEVER throws up, his body is too long or something) so I assume this is where Marce got it. Marcelus has been as happy as can be the whole day without throwing up at all again, he did have diahrea (mispelled) today but as far as I'm concerned I'd rather deal with a solid week of that then a day of throwing up, so I'm happy. Hoping I don't catch anything. I tend to not catch when I'm pregnant but I have that huge glucose test on Monday and I really like going to church so so far so good. I'm not too worried. Whatever it is going around has grazed my family. Sharrid feels the worst, poor guy. He has taken off sparatic hours/days to try and get rest and re-coop but he hasn't quite licked it yet.
On a completely different subject I am now 28 weeks along on Monday, and the baby is getting bigger by the day. It is getting harder for me to be mobile, I mean to be natural mobile. I have a hard time getting up off the couch and stuff. And, I don't remember feeling this way with Marcelus but sometimes when Phoenix moves...it doesn't feel so good. I remember with Marce it was always my pleasure to feel him move and flip and kick and whatever else the crazy babies do inside, but sometimes with Phoenix I find myself cringing a bit or making faces and noises like "ooohh" or an uncomfy "mmmm" esp. during a Braxton Hicks of course. That's when I freeze and just want to go to the bathroom immediately!

GD?
I got a call back this morning from my drs. office telling me that my glucose test came back positive. My levels are too high and it is possible I have Gestational Diabetes. I now have to take the 3 hour glucose test first thing on Monday morning, and then I will hear if I have it for sure on Tues. at my reg. appt. If I don't thank goodness and hopefully my mind can be put to ease. If I do, then I have to make changes to my diet I guess and possibly have a little exercize plan. Furthermore if those things don't keep it under control I will have to have medicine (Insulin I guess?) The only warning sign I have is that I have had a previous miscarriage. But it also said anybody can get it and that it's pretty common 2-4 % of pregnant women do. None of the other warning signs applied to me. I just really hope whatever the outcome is, that I have a really thorough appt. on Tuesday and that all questions are answered to where I feel like I'm in control and in charge of things.
I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself though but I have an enrichment tonight (the bright side of today) This weekend I will be thinking of it too much I know and just on pins and needles til Monday and more of Tues. even. I am also feeling sorry for myself because of the actual test on Mon. I have to do. I was successful in not having too much of a hard time with the 1 hour glucose test last Tues. but I am not feeling positive for the 3 hour. That is a long time for me to fast and has never given me good results. Hopefully the orange drink gives me enough to hold on through, and hopefully the fact that I will be just laying there, not moving or using any energy will also get me through. There is no telling for me though. I have passed out from not eating, within 2 hours I was gone. And I have passed out where I had just eaten but was in a very hot bathroom. I have also passed out where I ate but gave a lot of blood, like 6-7 viles...so there's not really any telling what the circumstance has to be. I can only do what I can do on Monday. I can only control so much and then the rest is up to my body. It will not be a good day if I pass out. The actual passing out is not bad, it feels like the deepest of deep sleeps. Once you wake out of it, you feel awful. You know you need food but the thought of anything makes you feel sick. You feel achy and headachy. The whole rest of the day is re coop, so I would really not be feeling good that day, but even if I don't pass out, I could still feel very yucky the rest of the day so I'm just planning on it not being a good day overall. But I have to go through Mon. to get the results on Tues. If I am GD, I will be in quite a hurry to end this pregnancy and will be anxious to have the baby sonner than if I am not GD. Does anybody know if you're chances for inducement go up with GD? Either way, just 12 more weeks to go, but I will be ready, esp. now that's for sure. I just want my baby here and safe.

I want input!!
So I am delivering at Chandler Hospital right there on Frye, because it's the closest to me and I don't want to drive any further if I'm in labor. I'm hoping that some of you have delivered there and that you can comment below on how it was.
I had a great experience with the hospital that Marce was born in, in Nevada. It was brand new, and the nurses just slaved over me, there were only like 2 or 3 of us in the whole ward! The food was great and the room/bathroom was fab! But, I only know this one experience, so I have no idea what this time will be like, in a whole different hospital...So, if any of you have delivered a baby here, or even just had to stay here, please comment and share your thoughts. I wish I could deliver in Mercy Gilbert. I could if I really wanted but it's that much further to drive...I'm just trying to think better safe then sorry, just in case...

Unexpected change of plans...

If you have not read my previous post called "A little reluctant" (just a few ago) you might get lost here in this one, but for those that have:
So of course we had planned to do a couple errands on Tuesday a couple of which were give blood at the clinic for my appt. and go to the Temple.(Connie was going to watch Marce) Also I had to make a pic appt. at Target for Marce and go get a few grocery's at Walmart...
Here's how our day went though, we got up, made a quick breakfast, got dressed in church clothes. I sat on the bed for like 20 minutes talking to Sharrid (OK OK...and crying...don't ask) and then we get up to go and I couldn't believe it but my tail bone was killing me. It's the worst it had been and on the Temple day! AAAHH, and I was pissed cause it had only been I swear just 20 minutes sitting on my bed, it's a real firm mattress but come on, give me a break...anyway, we go, and do Target first. Marce's appt. is on March 25th and I can't wait, I'll post in April when I get them back, and Mother you will be getting some real ones! Then we decided to just do the blood and get it over with. I found out at the blood place that I wasn't just giving a random vile of blood. It was my 28 week Glucose test they wanted! I had only today to get it done before my appt next Tues. so we were not going to be able to go to the Temple...Saved, Saved by the Orange Glucose drink!! just kidding, I was kind of annoyed, but knew I needed to do it. I guess I missed that at the dr. when they told me (if they told me!) it would be this test. Anyway I stayed there, drank what seemed like a huge bottle of the orange drink and sat for an hour waiting to give the blood. Meanwhile Shar and Marce went over to Walgreens for a couple things....I told them to go to the park and be back in 45 minutes....walgreens...park...whatever, anyway they come back right about the time I am not feeling so great. I wasn't so much feeling like I was going to pass out (I have a history of doing that when I don't eat) but I was so full with that orange drink, it was a little overwhelming, but they called me back, and I got to lay down to give me big 3 viles! (the girl asked if I was ok, I prob. looked like crap, so I got to lay down in the back room) I didn't pass out at all, but ate some Goldfish before I got up, then we left there and decided to go to Connie's anyway to let the kids play and visit. It was fun, we even stayed for dinner and got to spend some time with her and Peter. The kids had a good time as always and Levi was the cutest thing ever of course. Connie and I had a fun time talking about our old Track days...I don't know how we got on about it but it was fun, she told me about all the records she broke. She was much better than I was but it was a lot of fun to remember. I'm so glad I have a video camera. I would have liked to see her break those records and a lot of other things us kids did growing up. My parents had one starting when I was in prob. 7th grade or so but we need to transfer the tapes so we can watch them! But, mostly my siblings and I just have to remember these things. I had Connie take a couple pregnancy pictures of me as it's been a while. I am now going to be 28 weeks on Monday! I carry so low huh? Sometimes I wish I didn't. And, I always feel bigger than I look in pictures, I hate that! Anyway we eventually left Connie's and stopped by Walmart for a few things and headed home.

Candids of Marce

Marcelus often rummages in our night stands (technically they are plastic bins) and he pulled out a pair of socks this time of Shar's and had them on running all through the house. They looked so funny when he walked. He is changing so much, or not changing but evolving I guess. All the sudden he turned 2 and you get a whole lot of new things that he says or does, one of which is that he wants to help do pretty much everything, especially laundry (He cries every time we finish...) and here he is helping me make our morning smoothie. He's also helped me make cookies and corn bread before. Mom, I can't wait until you come and see this kid, they learn and grow so fast!Monday, March 3, 2008
Can I get a little TV relief?
I am bored out of my whits! After taking Marcelus on a stroller walk til dark, I surf the web while he watches a movie, but then what? Why is basic cable so crappy? It's not really cable at all, it's basic channels plus a few religious ones, a few spanish ones, and a couple political ones. There's basic cable, thank goodness it's free with HOA (don't even get me started on HOA!)
Anyway, what is the deal with having "Everybody loves Raymond" or "Scrubs" on two different channels at the same time,...what a waste. No offense to some of these lame shows like "Malcome in the Middle" and "Seinfeld", luckily "King of Queens" is starting soon. The Suns don't play agin until tomorrow night, I did find a bit of a joke on PBS. The Osmonds in Concert - Oh goodie. I would actually buy a ticket if it were their Christmas stuff. But it wasn't, it was a complete cheese fest. But...you gotta love 'em. But, I was dissapointed as they did not do my favorite song "Proud One", or at least not while I was watching, Thank goodness tomorrow is Tuesday, even if it won't be a complete blast.

A Little Reluctant
Sharrid was begging me to go to the Temple with him on Tuesday...even saying that he'd do all the chores for a whole week. If you've read the previous post you know he wouldn't have time because he's working too hard as it is, but how sweet is that anyway. It broke my heart so I consentedand told him he was not going to do the chores at all.
Why did Sharrid have to beg? Because sitting for 2 hours straight isn't great when you're pregnant, and especially if you are me and feel like your tailbone is going to break! Also, he must beg because I have to eat something every couple hours or I pass out,...which is exactly what happened to me when I was pregnant with Marcelus. Yes, I passed out at the temple while working a session. We were "THE couple, and it was in the CIRCLE"...love my code talk? It was not good, and so yes I avoid going when I'm pregnant!
But, the point is I am going tomorrow, I'm a little nervous, a little reluctant, and I will be saying a prayer in the morning for help. I will be eating right before and right after and will prob. carry a bit of a "snack" in my dress pocket, I do every time...my butt might be killing me when I am done, but hey, I will be blessed right?
To make matters a little worse, I have to give blood tomorrow at the clinic for my dr. appt. that's next week. It's prob. not much blood but it's for a test cause I'll be 28 weeks this monday, speaking of which I will take and post more pregnancy pics very soon. Giving blood has made me pass out before,...going to the Temple while being pregnant has made me pass out before,...I'm playing with fire tomorrow! If I survive, I'll post tomorrow night probably.

Working Like A Dog
The last couple weeks Sharrid has been working so hard, and he's not about to slow down...
He's working 40 hours a week at the Prison, and 25 hours a week at Walmart in Chandler. He catches a van pool to the Prison which is nice cause then he doesn't have to drive to or from and also saves on gas. It also means he has to meet at the van a little earlier then he would normally leave himself. Sometimes he's tired and can sleep on the van. He's applied to AutoZone here in Maricopa to replace Walmart so he doesn't have to drive into Chandler just to work part time. That would save a lot of time out of his day, but either way. Walmart is nice, because we get a discount on our grocery's, and anything else there for that matter...
This is how his schedule looks every week...
Sunday: church 8:30-11:30, leave house for vanpool at 12:15, arrive home at 11:30 pm, in bed by midnight.
Monday: Get up at 5:45, work Walmart 7-11 am, home by 11:45 am, leave house for vanpool at 12:15, arrive home at 11:45, in bed by midnight.
Tuesday: Run errands, dr. appts., grocery shop, family time...
Wednesday: Walmart 9 am-6 pm, home at 6:45
Thursday: Same as Monday
Friday: Same asd Monday
Saturday: Same as Monday
Pretty crazy, but I just wanted to post a big thank you to Sharrid for working so hard. It will enable us to do some things that we need to this year, most of which are actually fun things. Buy a car, prepare for a new baby, and paint our house are some examples. I'm pretty excited about these things, especially painting! It will be hard work, and maybe a little annoying or frustrating but I think it will add so much to our little home. Our house feels so bare to me, and paint will make it feel so much more like a home, not to mention motivate us to continue with the small changes we want to make to our house, and of course decorate. We will be going to Lowe's soon to look at paint colors. I have a really good idea of what I want already!
Funny things Marce is doing lately:
Singing along to songs on movies, or trying to...it's really cute. My nephew Jonah has been singing forever and Marcelus is finally starting to sing...
Marcelus will shush me when he doesn't want me to sing or talk anymore...I honestly don't know where he learned this but it's pretty funny, he'll do a quick shh. Little stinker...
I've been so excited for 101 Dalmations to come out this week because Marcelus loves dogs so much and I can't think of a better movie to get him. Today for the first time he saw the commercial and was glued saying "dog" over and over again...yep, there's a lot of dogs in this one. He'll love it and it will prob. end the Cinderella streak or at least share the glory.
Marcelus has started to get down on all fours and bark and pretend he's a dog. He does it now all the time. It's real cute. He's turning into such a little boy and is learning so much lately. Did your kids make a big learning/communication jump at 2, cause he sure is!

Out Of Bed

So we've had a really difficult sleeper with Marcelus his whole life so far. He is in a toddler bed but so far has to have the door shut and cry himself to sleep, (which only takes like less than 5 min.) but still. And he does get up in the night once sometimes even twice. Once in a while he will sleep all the way through.
I have been giving him a chance at least to go to bed on his own with the door open, thinking one of these days he'll stay. We go in, say a little prayer and then turn on his night time music really soft, I tuck him and his "doggie" in a kiss him and then I leave a crack the door (he has a night light). Every night he saunters out pretty much right after I leave. I put him back and give him one or two more chances before I end up shutting the door. Sometimes when he comes out he hides behind the way in the hall and just stands there for a while. I am perfectly aware of his every move of course. Sometimes he gradually walks out, slowly, ...
Well, this particular night, I put him in bed and went back to what I was doing on the comp. prob. blogging. I hear him out of his room, I hear him just basically outside my door in the family room. I'm waiting, waiting for him to make himself known. He never does, while I'm busy blogging, he must have been too afraid or something to come in and show me he was out of bed or, he just doesn't like being in his room alone and figured I was close enough. Either way, after I was done I walked out because I hadn't heard his little footsteps or noises anymore and he had come out with his little doggie and fell asleep so precious like on the couch. As much as I feel completely helpless and that I'm pretty much at the end of my rope with this situation, it was adorable...

A Huge Help!
If you've been reading previous posts on my blog, you know that we've been trying to help Marcelus gain a little weight and make sure his diet is good and healthy. Today he started taking this Arbonne Vitamin Drink for kids. It is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and whole food fruits and vegetables. It's berry flavored and it mixes with water right into a sippy cup!
It has so many fruits and vegetables in it including blueberries, carrots, broccoli, tomato, cabbage, spinach, parsley, boysenberries, rasberries, cranberries, apple, pumpkin, pomegranate, and elderberries. I could never dream of giving all of this to Marcelus in one day, and even if I could, he wouldn't eat half of it!

This is what it says on the box:
This great-tasting power punch drink mix combines super food antioxidants with core vitamins and minerals known to support children's health. It has no artificial flavors, color or sweeteners.

A 30 day/1 month supply of the Vitamin drink is $22 retail, but if any of you are interested, I can make sure you get 35% off of it every time, which if I'm correct in math (I might not be, not my strong subject) It would be around 14-15 dollars for the month supply. So like, 50 cents a day or so? To me, that's really going to be affordable. The only other Vitamin drink/shake that I know of that could be comparable to the Arbonne drink would be Reliv. I know this drink is probably the best thing out there for Marcelus to be taking. I love that there's no artificial flavors, color, or sweeteners. Arbonne has high standards though, very high standards.
If you're interested in getting your toddler/kid on a good vitamin - comment, call, or email me, and you can check out the website too at http://www.arbonne.com/, when the page comes up, on the top right hand click on continue to arbonne website, then go to products (top left corner) scroll down to weight loss and nutrition, then to nutritional hybrids. click on view products and then on the kids drink to read about it.
To take it, your kid needs to be 2 years old or older, after that there are teen chews and capsules for adults. The best thing about the capsules is they desolve in less than 30 minutes, they are specific to men and woman seperately, and the actual capsule is vegetarian.
Arbonne is awesome, so if you have any questions about any of the other products you see on the website, feel free. But I was really excited for Marcelus to be 2 so he could take this vitamin drink, so I wanted to specifically share about the kids vitamin drink.
