I have never been a big Coldplay fan. I don't dislike them though. I like Scientist, Trouble, and In My Place...maybe a few more...my older sisters like Coldplay a lot and know all the songs and stuff. We like a lot of the same music but don't go crazy over the same...our favorites are different. They got really into The Beatles, and I have to admit I've never even boughten a Beatles album. I recognize their greatness but they aren't my favorite. My sisters also went through a big Lenny Kravitz phase. I like him just fine but I never was into him like they were. I'm deep into artists that they aren't though too. About Coldplay though to be honest the guy's voice is so lethargic and hypnotizing. I always said it's the kind of music I'd listen to going to bed. I heard a snippet of Viva La Vida in a commercial during the NBA Finals and within the first 2 seconds of it I knew that I liked it and that it was a good song. I'm freakin' awesome like that! (Yes, I just said that) Being a musician and especially since I was in Orchestra 3 years in HS, I was really impressed with the Timpani, the Chimes, and the Strings. That stuff all means something to me though. I love the fact that I took Orchestra. It broadened me musically even further than I was and it's just a whole seperate world from even Concert Band. I love it though when there are strings heavily found in popular music, like Michael Jackson's You Rock My World. It's basically like the cream cheese in the recipe. Needless to say I bought the song off of www.mp3fiesta.com for 20 cents, transferred it to itunes and then to my iPod. Since Fiesta is so cheap I bought all of Coldplay's albums just to have, except their new one. I just bought the one song because it wasn't on there yet. Listening to Viva La Vida for the first few times I really wished I could drive or at least that I could blast my music like I used to. Now a days I spare my kids ears and keep it down, and Shar and I hardly ever listen to music in the car...we talk and catch up from his work week. Someday though when my kids are old enough to enjoy blaring music like me, we'll be bumpin' down the road in my new car!

Coldplay rocks and I love the new single. The CD is different than their usual sound and takes some getting used to, but I like it a lot too. My favorite album is still their first one (brings back memories).
