Long Weekend

It was a long weekend for us because Sharrid took Sat. off. He does transports sometimes which is when you drive an inmate to the Hospital down in Tucson for this and that. He doesn't get payed more for the overtime it is but he does get those hours saved up to take off. He had enough hours from a few of those trips to take Sat. off, so we just did a bunch of things around the house. I went through the boys clothes and toys. Phoenix is already out of his little newborn clothes that he was first wearing. Marce had winter PJ's that needed to be put away to save for Phoenix. Sunday after church we watched my mother's day gift, Anne of Green Gables. We hadn't seen it since we were married. We'll watch Anne of Avonlea, the 2nd one next week. Those movies are so inspiring to me and you forget just how good they are each time you see them again. The writing is so good. Monday I had to get my last filling of the 4 I needed. Then I had to go to the OB for my 6 wk. appt. (I am actually only 5 weeks recovered) Phoenix had his one month appt. also. He is 97% for weight! The nurse made me strip off his diaper and lift him up so she could reset the scale to do it again. She was kind of taken aback... He was 88% for height although I saw that his leg was still bent a little when she measured. His head was 54%. The Nurse Practitioner said we "make pretty babies". Later in the Mall, the Gap lady said Phoenix had "the perfect tan". I confessed he was half black (Shar & Marce were at the play place) and a lady in Walmart said Phoenix was "So beautiful". Man, if only I got as many compliments as I get for my kids!

In other news Phoenix is already in a size 2 diaper and heading for a 3 fast! Shar & I were right to think he might be our "big child". I'm going to take some pictures soon of him in a diaper. His boobs, big barrel chest and shoulders are too cute, and of course his fat cheeks are just the icing on the cake!

I asked Marcelus if he wanted to sit on the toilet just before we got in the shower, he usually always says yes, while throwing his diaper away, I think I missed his first pee in the potty...when I came back his little private was dripping...it couldn't have been that much because the trash was in the bathroom, I didn't leave the room....but no matter how much it was, the fact is he did it for the first time! Maybe by the time he is 3 we can have him totally potty trained. I'd be happy with that.

We are in the process of mapping out our backyard to get started on putting it in. It's going to be so great for us when it's done, especially Marcelus. We're ready to buy the sprinklers on Monday, from there we'll get the pipe and pieces we need for laying it and we'll rent a ditch digger and put it all in. We've been told that this is the most "not fun" part about doing the back yard and probably the most tricky and expensive also. Once it's done though it gets cheaper and more enjoyable. I'm actually excited for it all because we have great resourceful people helping us and guiding us through it since we've never done it before.
