Sick Day

We as full time (that means 24 hr's a day in this case) Mom's don't get sick days. We don't get vacation days, and we don't get paid. If I could take a sick day, today would have been one of those days. I felt great yesterday considering the fact that I still don't know if I'm anemic. Yesterday was the first day I started working out . I'm doing the Oxygenfit system that my mom does. It's a lot of fun, I loved it and was thinking about it almost the whole day. I was so excited to do it again this morning, but that wasn't going to happen. I was tired last night and couldn't believe that I wanted to go to bed at 9. Of course I didn't get to bed til 10 or just after. It couldn't have been from the workout because It was only 20 minutes and it was fairly easy. I was just running through the DVD with a somewhat easy resistance level. (pink) I noticed that some of the workouts were too easy for me with the pink resistance and that I'd be switching to blue resistance not long from now. My workout was cut short actually because I never got to do the door attachment workouts. Later on when I memorize some of the workouts you can do, I'll do stuff without the DVD as well. I worked out though while Phoenix had floor time in the morning. Then I fed him and put him down for his morning nap. I came back to the TV to do whatever else I wanted and Marce already had a movie on,...so I said "tomorrow"...This morning I didn't wake up til 9. I didn't feel like eating much, I had a headache. I hate waking up to a headache. I mean, that's not fair! I could tell I was a little weaker. Not 100%. On top of this my throat was a bit soar as if we needed to change our vents,...but we don't. So, today I probably won't get a lot done. I went back to bed, didn't sleep well but didn't get out of bed til Shar left for work at noon. The biggest dissapointment was that I was so excited to workout but just couldn't. I feel a bit better now, still not 100% but it's a good sign that nothing will be wrong tomorrow.

With the system Oxygenfit (and every system for that matter) you are supposed to do your workouts about every other day and do cardio on the off days. Itis still too hot to run so I've decided on my off days I will dance. It's something I love to do and it is definately cardio, plus it does tone up your muscles. When it's cool enough to run then I'll do that too, and when I can, I want to buy a bike.

TOTALLY RANDOM STUFF

Sometimes I'll be holding Phoenix or feeding him and watching Marcelus play and I'll think "we're missing one" "where's the third?" oh yeah we only have two kids and they are both here. I don't know what it is but I always do this. A very similar situation used to happen to me when I was a kid. We would kneel down for family prayers and I would feel a loss like we were missing someone and then I would look over and there would be a little blonde haired boy kneeling with his head bowed. Perfectly reverent. Later I realized this boy I saw from time to time might have been my brother Landon who eventually came to our family. The funny thing is I never saw my sister Tibi, who came before Landon.

I forgot to post this earlier when I was talking about my grandpa. I must have asked him about McCain or something. I should have known because they are somewhat close to the same age but of course my grandpa knows McCain, knows him well. They came into Congress the very same year and he said that they voted McCain their class president. He said he worked closely with him in Congress. I recently found out that Cindy McCain was a special education teacher. That's cool. I watched a bit of an interview. She's not as shy and reserved as I thought she seemed.

I never knew that you felt Landon around before he was born. I just read a good book about a woman who had a near-death experience. She talked about going to the spirit world and all of the different things she learned there. One of the things she learned was about people we were very close to there. You talking about Landon reminded me of her book. Interesting....

I know what you mean about someone missing. When my mom was pregant with Kurtis I went with her to the ultrasound and I told her that it was going to be a girl, but it was obviously a boy. I told her over and over that we were going to have a girl. Two years later, Kylene came!

I hope you can get into your good workout routine soon.

I totally know what you mean when you feel like you have more kids than you do. I did that very thing all of the time before Levi came (even before I was pregnant) where I would actually think I was hearing another baby cry and look around and think, "Oh yeah, I only have 2!" It's so weird!

Lexie, I'm borderline anemic (not pregnant) and anemic when I am pregnant. I always take an iron supplement (27mg.. I think) every morning (along with a multi) and drink it down with a glass of OJ. Don't drink milk or have any dairy products within the same hour of taking your iron - all this has to do with how the iron is absorbed. I was struggling with the same issue you are having and this made a world of difference. I had been taking iron, but no one told me not to swallow it with milk, so I wasn't getting any of the benefit from it. When I started doing this, I felt like a new woman within a week! (And I've recently tried taking two irons on period days and it REALLY helps!)

cool does it matter what type of brand of iron pills I buy? I'll get some this week and start taking them with my prenatals. Maybe it couldn't hurt...I'd rather do that than have to pay attention to iron based foods I need to eat. MMM I love OJ! Hey Kayla "MMM that's good OJ!" - Stewie ha ha ha

No, I buy mine at Walmart or Target... I did confirm it's 27 mg. Any brand is fine. You can OD on iron, though, so use caution and don't think you can take too much each day... I only take two on period days, and I haven't asked a doc if that's okay, so you might want to check first!
