CA Road Trip, part 3 - Carlsbad Beach
The first day we went to the beach was Friday. It was overcast the whole time but it was still warm and the water wasn't cold at all! We brought this huge beach ball that I won at the 2002 Ron Packard reunion in the Bingo matches (the reunion right after the 50th reception) We set it, bumped it, kicked it, and just plain chucked it back and forth. It would be fun with a few more people. Sooner or later we need to have a Kevin Willard family reunion in Carlsbad and do the Beach and stuff. Friday I almost felt naked at the beach without a boogie board. I have not gone to the beach without one since I can remember. I don't even remember the first time I went boogie boarding, that's how long I've been doing it. Needless to say when we went on Sat. I took one. Unfortunately it was a piece of crap and couldn't handle the waves. It was made out of Styrofoam or something,...there's your problem. Anyway, after about 5 waves I came in. It wasn't a fair fight between me and the waves with that wimpy board. Saturday the sun was shining the whole time. I got a great tan on my arms, burnt the back of my legs, and Shar kept asking for 5 more minutes in the water when it was time to go.
