Young Mothers

Can I get a shower?..............yeah ok, I guess.

Can I get ready without any interuptions?...................No way!

Can I finish my breakfast without a breastfeeding session?....................It's pushing it, but yeah...hurry up.

Oh and while we're on the subject, can someone help me out here with the breastfeeding?....Oh yeah never mind...

Can I get 1 chore done per day? ..........yeah probably..........Ok, how about 2?.......mmm..........3?.............hahahahahaha

Can I get dinner ready without feeling like I'm in an all out race?.........No, it'd be nice if you could just take your time, enjoy it a little, but no, sorry. Hurry up.

Why are you crying like that?....Oh yeah cause you woke up way too early from your morning nap, hmmm.............Mommy needs a nap....

Do you ever feel like you NEED a vacation from being a wife/mom??? Well, I do, and I'm not going to get it! My body is having a hard time hanging in there. I'm taking my prenatal and trying to eat but I am going to start working out very soon because it's not enough and I feel like I'm barely getting by. Maybe Phoenix is too demanding for me physically...I feel drained all the time. As much as I don't want to get older, I think it will be better when I'm done having my kids and I'm not breastfeeding and the youngest is past the terrible two's, maybe not...but being a young mother is not fun a lot of times...being an older mother, yeah! Now that sounds fun, ha ha

This post does not even make sense cause I'm so wasted....I need some energy.

And also..yes, I'm not trying to make my kids grow up too fast. But there are so many days when I think, man, I can't wait till the kids are 5 and 6 or older and are less dependent on me (and less whiny). I know each age brings it's challenges. But this young age is so physically challenging and draining.

Have you ever tried Red Bulls, Rockstars or Full throttles? Haha, just kidding. Working out should help- you'll have way more energy to do the "mom" things and they won't seem so draining.

I totally relate and agree with your post. Sometimes it seems like there aren't enough hours in a day! Especially since Emma and Jade have started school and ballet. And it is more challenging when they are young. Emma is 5 and it is nice. She is very helpful and can do lots of stuff on her own. It will be nice to have her and Jade helping out when the baby comes.
Are you anemic? Whenever I have kids my iron always drops really low and I have to take iron pills in addition to the prenatals so I can have enough energy to make it through the day. You may want to look into that. I take the iron pills called SlowFe. They are nicer to your system, because they slowly release into your system.
You and Connie should plan a girls night out and have the guys watch the kids so you two can have a break! Or you could make a plan to have a kid free night out once a month.

thanks Kristie, I never thought of that. I could very well be anemic I don't know. I think at one point I was borderline I can't even remember when. I just feel like my body can't cash the checks it's writing. It might have to do with the breastfeeding, it might not. It might have to do with my eating habits (or lack thereof)...

Sure, glad to help. You can have your doctor check to see if you are anemic. They just have to poke your finger and they can tell you right away if you need to take iron pills. Having low iron will take its toll on your body, you feel very tired all the time. Here is some info I just got online: Anemia goes undetected in many people, and symptoms can be small and vague. Most commonly, people with anemia report a feeling of weakness or fatigue in general or during exercise, general malaise and sometimes poor concentration. It is something to look into for sure. And set up a kid free night out, you deserve it! Good luck. Ü

I'm going to make an appointment, thanks a bunch Kristie. I think if I don't have anemia, I'm pretty dang close. I'll ask what foods are high in iron also.

I did an internet search:
Foods that are a good source of iron include:
* liver
* lean red meats, including beef, pork, lamb
* seafood, such as oysters, clams, tuna, salmon, and shrimp, etc.
* beans, including kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils
* iron fortified whole grains, including cereals, breads, rice, and pasta
* greens, including collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens
* tofu
* vegetables, including broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts
* chicken and turkey
* blackstrap molasses
* nuts
* egg yolks
* dried fruits, such as raisins, prunes, dates and apricots
