Oh Marcelus...

Yesterday Marce and I had a great conversation about how babies eat. He is very interested in the umbilical cord. He asked me why it was attached to the penis and said something about it being silly. I quickly corrected him and told him it's not connected to the penis but the belly button, hence the fact that the food goes through the tube right into babies tummy. That seemed to clear up a lot but the conversation kept on...because Marce wanted to know what happened when the baby was born. I told him that the doctor would cut the cord off of the babies belly and that the baby could drink milk from mommies boobs. Oh boy...here we go with 20 more questions. Then I had to explain that the baby can only breastfeed and that he can't eat regular food until he grows teeth. Marce thought it was pretty incredulous that the baby could ONLY have milk from my boobs. I could just tell he thought that was so inconvenient when we have all this food in our pantry. I then of course had to tell him that this is why mommies have boobs in the first place. He told me that he did have boobs. I let this one go and told him yes but his boobs were very small...not like a mommies. He thought about this and then countered that daddy had big boobs. I told him daddy has boobs because he is a big guy. (Sharrid really doesn't have man boobs at all). I think Marce did learn a lot though :) I love this age, 4.

Within 30 seconds of me waking up this morning Marce comes into my room and states: "Mom, daddy just drank some poo juice (prune juice) and then left without pooping!"

After a good laugh, I told him that it was okay and that daddy would poop later. Yesterday Marce asked me what this was in the fridge. I explained that it's juice that makes you poo. There you go. I had to tell him that so he wouldn't ask for any. He definitely retains everything. I guess he thought the results of drinking that were instant.

Funny stories! Marce sure is a funny one. Yes, fun age too. Lots of explaining going on over here too. Never seems to end!

Thank you. I needed that good laugh today!! (not that I'm having a bad day or anything...)
Good thing I'm bringing Phoenix home and not Marce. I don't want to be the one to answer all his questions. I may not be as direct as you are!
