Christmas Morning 2010

The baking was done, the lights were on, the stockings were hung, the boys were in bed. We were ready for the celebration! (Deep tired pregnancy sigh). Dad heard Santa and we woke the boys up to go hide and spy on Santa. Marcelus is a pro but Phoenix doesn't really get it yet, so when he woke up he had all kinds of things to tell me and requests to make. I stayed with him in his room for the second year in a row so he wouldn't scare Santa away :( Next year will be awesome though! Santa came and left some things, took a tray of goodies we'd made for him, and jetted to the next house we suppose.

Between Sharrid and I, and the video camera and still shot, we tried. That's all you can do and our Christmas morning, including photos taken is below.

From Santa: Dad - Jumbo grey bath towel. Mom - Jumbo purple bath towel. Marcelus - Optimus Prime & mask, Blue lightsaber, Lego X Wing Fighter. Phoenix - Bumblebee & mask, Purple lightsaber, lace & trace animal cards.

This Christmasy table runner is from (and made) by my mom! I love it! The music notes fabric is probably my favorite, my mom knows me well. The pillow also made by mom goes pretty well with the quilt she made me last year that drapes over my rocker and is used to cuddle in front of the TV. So, I put the pillow on the rocker, and it makes it a lot comfier to sit in the rocker!
The Harry Potter Clue game in the background is way fun. It's a bit more complex than the original idea. I recommend it. The only complaint I had is that the entire board is Sepia, which is impossible for me to see. My sisters had to do everything board related for me when we played. I can't believe I didn't take more of Sharrid. He got this Brazilian (he served his mission in Rio) ringer t-shirt as well as new white undershirts (they are required for work), new black work socks, a digital wrist watch, and the Nacho Libre soundtrack from me and the boys. He also got a Men's Health subscription. My cousin Karena made this. She let me pick out the frame but that's the only thing I knew about it. I was totally surprised by what the rest of it was and excited! I am a calendar, to do list person and I am thrilled about this gift! It's a dry erase calendar you can hang in the kitchen, office, ect. I love the burnt redish frame I picked out! I got the boys an old classic favorite of me and my siblings. We played with the Lite Brite for hours probably. I especially remember laying on the carpet and watching my sister Kira at work. She of course now is a brilliant artist. Marcelus loves to play store with me so I got him some play money, a very inexpensive gift! It's also going to be a good way to teach him how to count money and stuff. My mom got Marcelus a big Lego Star Wars dictionary book so I got the match, the regular Star Wars dictionary book. Everything you need to know about characters, ships, and places Star Wars, including big pictures. This thing is massive, like a huge coffee table book! Right now he does prefer the Lego book , so good job Grandma! Earrings from Sharrid. Shar also got me some Burt's Bee's for my skin. Marce's big gift from mom and dad was the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts set. I got two pair of much needed heels from my aunt Lisa! Black and Purple. Phoenix' favorite gifts were his Hiro train (from Hero of the Rails) and this, a build it yourself train. He wanted to do it right then! Marcelus wearing his Star Wars sunglasses he got in his stocking. He is holding a Lego Star Wars wrist watch. It literally is made out of Legos. Awesome. The boys had to play with their lightsabers right away, so before we opened gifts under the tree, we let them. Marce's favorite gift was probably his blue lightsaber.
NOT PICTURED:
Marcelus also got a remote control car, and an Easy Bake Oven. He is a pro in the kitchen and loves to help cook and bake. He got a Star Wars coloring book in his stocking and a Santa Pez candy dispenser.

Phoenix also got Hot Wheels crash set, Hot Wheels race set, and a new crayon set. He got a Thomas coloring book, a snowman Pez candy dispenser, a Cars wrist watch, and some Buzz Lightyear paper gliders.

The boys got trains and Spiderman pajama bottoms and a huge floor mat for cars. They got slippers from Kira (pictures to come). The boys got a few "shared" gifts, Hungry Hippos game which was a fiasco with their cousins, but fun. Gone Fishin' game, and Star Wars paper cut outs, kind of like hefty paper dolls.

Our family gift from my parents was a Belgian waffle maker. We are breakfast people because Sharrid works swings so instead of dinner being our big family meal, breakfast is, so it was a perfect gift for us and we have already used it several times. My mom also gave us a bunch of home made jelly and syrup. With the waffle maker we've already gone through a fair share of the syrup!

So that was our Christmas morning. We hope all of you had as much fun!
