Our Secret Santa

A couple nights ago, we had a knock at our door. I don't answer the door when Sharrid is not home unless I'm expecting someone. Besides, it was a fast scary knock...
About 5-10 minutes later I got a phone call and picked it up. It was secret Santa from the Cullumber ward telling me he'd left something outside my door. I had Marce open the door cause he didn't even know what was going on. He was surprised and we brought in a box full of food, and a bag of gifts. It was such a surprise that we weren't expecting which is what made it so great. Sharrid was working of course so I had to take pictures. Whoever our secret Santa is, they made us feel a lot of love that night and we're so grateful for what they gave. The boys got tractors and even a wrapped gift each which is exciting for Shar and I (because it's the only thing for the kids under the tree that we don't know what it is pretty much). There were gift cards so that Shar and I could go out to eat for date nights, and they gave us a feast to eat! We just couldn't believe how generous our secret Santa was and we had decided to do this very thing as one of our family Christmas traditions but just didn't make it happen this year. We have been given a great example of how to do this and we've been given the gift of the feeling that the receiving family gets when someone decides to be a secret Santa for another family. We will pay it forward next year for sure! Thank you so much to our Cullumber Ward secret Santa!

I don't know why I got this face when I told Marcelus to smile...
Marcelus' gift from our secret Santa
Marcelus really thought it was Santa himself who had dropped off the food and gifts. He knows he is coming soon and didn't really understand what a secret Santa was and that it was someone in our ward that we know. It's okay....he just knew it was a really kind gesture and that's the important thing, that he learns charity and giving. Marcelus' tractor from secret Santa

That is awesome! What a blessing and it sounds like someone had a lot of fun putting that together. I noticed Sharrid got some oranges...just what he wanted!

Yeah, I didn't even think to put the kids in their coats for the temple lights. I thought it was warmer in AZ than St. George. Silly me!

We love you guys and can
t wait to see you tomorrow. Have fun hiding for Santa. My kids are so excited and I am too! Getting that jittery feeling in my stomach thinking about it!

Your right. It is the best feeling in the world to do this for someone else. You will love it just as much as receiving this year.
