Tidbits

First of all, to whom it may concern, I have recently found out that Qingdao is not pronounced "Kingdow" like I've been saying it. It is pronounced "Chingdow" and even can have a "Chentow" sound to it, just FYI. I don't feel too dumb seems how it's not a US city but still...

Along those same lines, I have to post that I have had dreams about China, Chinese people, and the Chinese language, all night, for two nights in a row. I guess I'm focused, but really it is on my mind a lot during the day and it doesn't surprise me. I go to sleep dreaming of the trip, the treatment, and the aftermath every night. It was bound to show up in my real dreams...

Christmas time has really helped Marcelus' behavior. He's a pretty good kid anyway...probably because he's outgrowing the terrible two's/three's, but don't you think all this Christmas excitement, all the traditions, fun activities, and the prospect of what Santa might bring helps .....it sure is pleasant this time of year. I'm loving that aspect of it, and to see your kid so excited and behaving so well is really a treat. Christmas time with little kids is the BEST!

Yesterday I heard Marcelus and Phoenix talking....well Phoenix doesn't know more than a few words so the conversation went like this:

Marcelus: (really excited) "Hey Phoenix, let's go play in mommy's room!!"

Phoenix: Says nothing

Marcelus: (matter of factly and reassuringly) "No, it's not scary. The light is on. See Phoenix, it's not scary, the light's on."

I was laughing in my head. Marcelus is scared of the dark, especially going into his room at night (there is no lamp) or going to bed. I sit by his bed until he falls asleep. The poor guy often complains of monsters and witches.....I know someday he'll outgrow it.

The 'conversation' sounds too cute!
You are SO lucky Marce is behaving! Matthew is usually pretty good but for whatever reason he's been getting into everything lately. Seriously, him and Chloe have been driving me a little crazy...but I am still loving this time of year!

Yeah, we have had our days when the Santa bribing doesn't work. UGH! But then there have been days where they are all perfect little angels and play so well together. Huh??? I don't get it.

And CUTE family picture over there on the sidebar! I guess it was too much to ask that Sharrid smile...

I am glad that the Santa angle is helping good behavior at your house. Not so here. Brayden has a hard time being good for Santa when Christmas is still a long time away. If Christmas were always going to be tomorrow, then it would work for us. He's been worse than normal this month... maybe next year will be better!

I haven't had to "bribe" Marce much at all really. He knows all about Santa and that he's coming. We have a paper chain and he's just pretty much being good and cheerful all on his own, it's nice. He's pretty good anyway, but he's especially cheerful and excited.

Sharrid was smiling....on the picture that the boys weren't! So, I decided to go with the one where the kids were cooperating...Shar looks pleasant at least...
