Marcelus Turns 4!

Marcelus turns 4 on the 16th and he had his first real birthday party on Saturday. He needs to improve his birthday party etiquette a little bit. He was so serious and only thanked his friends and cousins when prompted, also he would never look at them when he thanked them. I was a little disappointed in that way but it was a crazy day for a 4 years old.

His party theme was Thomas and Friends and his guests were: Jonah, Eden, Bennett, Matthew, Courtney, Eli, Stella, and Rigden. Carter is the only one who couldn't come.

Marcelus and some of his friends didn't want to play the games, but the ones who chose to play had fun. We played Musical Chairs and Thomas Thomas, Diesel. (Duck Duck, Goose). After that we opened presents. Marcelus got a lot of Thomas stuff from mom and dad including a game, trains, book, and backpack. He has loved putting stuff in his backpack and hefting his stuff all around the house. Marcelus has been asking to go to school since he turned 3. He has been so ready and we are finally happy to be able to put him in school in August. He will go to Kindergarten the following August. This summer I plan to put him in swim lessons again and maybe some other fun rec programs.

Marce also got some look and find books and a big Melissa & Doug world map floor puzzle. Marcelus loves games and puzzles and we have played the Thomas game and it's lots of fun.

He has enjoyed what his friends gave him as well. He got some bubbles which he has loved doing. He got a dart gun, Hot Wheels cars, a light saber, and a few other things. Marcelus helped me put together the goodie bags we would give out at the end of the party. He didn't really understand the concept of "giving back", but he had fun putting them together none the less. He even got to have some of the extra items.



Marcelus had a Thomas cake that was pretty cool. It was fun singing to him and having him blow out the candles.
