This week, actually on the 5th is me and Sharrid's 3rd wedding anniversary. We were going to go to Outback Steakhouse via a gift card, funny enough. (Read previous Post) But it worked out that we went to Famous Dave's instead. I have never been to either but had a really good recomendation from a good friend Kristen Starr to go to Famous Dave's sometime. Knowing that it's a BBQ place, I knew both Sharrid and I would love it as we are both big time carnivores!! We both love to eat, and eat good food.
So, kind of last minute we were able to drop Marcelus off at one of my best friend's house, Janny's so she could watch him and he could play with her kids. It was also great to talk with her and catch up, next time we are going to do something together with them, we miss our Chandler ward and friends so much. So, anyway we went in and loved the way the place was decorated. The whole night was awesome. I went to the bathroom right when we got there. They said we'd have a 15 minute wait...but in the bathroom I heard that our table was ready, so we had no wait at all, so we went back. Our server was cool, and it was her first day! She did great bringing us Lemondade and yummy wedge fries, and telling us what all the different sauces were we could use for them. The Original was my favorite. We started scanning the menu, it was hard to decide whether Sharrid wanted Hot Links, Catfish, Ribs, Shrimp. All of the food on their menu is his favorites! I noticed something though off to one side that said "Feast for Two", it was perfect! It had everything almost, so we decided to get that. It was not long at all before our food was out, they were so quick. They brought all the food out on an upside down trash can lid, it was so cute, the way they did things. This is what was on the tray: 1/2 stack of ribs, half of a whole chicken, cubed BBQed Pork, wedge fries, 2 corn on the cob, 2 corn bread muffins, Potato Salad, and these really good apple slices that were smothered with a sweet sauce prob. made up of cinnamon, and brown sugar or something. It was a ton of food and there's a picture of what it looked like basically.

We stuffed ourselves as good as we could, and boxed the rest, 2 whole boxes of food to take home! A manager stopped by our table and asked if it was our first time, and we said yes, and he gave us a book of coupons for next time and a bottle of their Original Sauce to take home! How cool is that? We had such a good time without Marcelus, (sorry kid) just talking and joking and laughing a lot of the time. Shar always asks me if I would still love him if he weighed over 400 pounds, and I always sadly have to say No, and then we both laugh...
We had such a good time, it was quick but a lot of fun. I know that a lot of you reading have already been but those who haven't, I want to highly recommend this place to everyone and say that I was pleased very much with the No wait, the food out quick, the atmosphere, the great tasting food, not to mention that they are very gracious with it, they give you a ton! Our server was great, you'd have never known it was her first time, and the free coupons and sauce was awesome! I recommend this place to everyone...except my sister Connie. (She'll know why) For locals who haven't been, it is right by the Chandler Mall on the Frye side, by Harkins and Best Buy.
By the way, Phoenix was going crazy in the middle of the night, waking me up. I think he might have had the hiccups, and it went on into the morning, maybe he just really likes BBQ too! Like Mother like son, ha, like father like son too! Good boy...

It sounds so good, I'll have to try it sometime. Happy anniversary!
Happy Anniversary you two! Ours is Feb. 20th. We LOVE Famous Dave's! We always get the Feast for 2 - my favorite is the Sweet cornbread muffins - I could eat like 10 by myself! Glad you guys got to experience it.
Lexie, thankyou so much for your sweet comment on my blog for my birthday. You made me cry!! That was so nice. Love ya!!
Lexie!! Phew!! I am so glad you like it!! I don't know if you have seen this, but every once in a while when we are shopping in Safeway or Fry's you can find Famous Dave's sauce right there by all the other BBQ sauces!! I like Devil's Spit the best, and we've never seen that in the store, but you can buy it off their website!! Happy Anniversary!!
Oh! And if you sign up on their website for their e-club - you get free food on your birthday!
Happy Anniversary! We've only been to Famous Dave's once - Eric and I loved it, the kids not so much! I guess that's why we've never gone back! We'll have to go again when it's just the two of us, we love good BBQ!
Actually, you got me all wrong. Peter and I love that place. We have been a few times. Peter goes with work buddies a lot. I love the original sauce and the corn bread- it's the best I have ever had. I usually order a 1/2 dozen cornbread muffins to go!The ribs are really good, but I think I like the BBQ chicken the best. Just because I don't eat meat like it's gonna come back to life if I don't shove it in my mouth doesn't mean I don't like it at all! Silly :)
