Marce went to dr. for his 2 year wellness and long story short, he was 4 percent for weight. He has always been below 20 or so, so we weren't surprised but the dr. gave me ideas to boost his protein which have been easy and fun to do, and I can't wait to see if he's made improvement in May, his next appt. and then again next Feb. for his 3 year wellness, but one of the things she said (because he does not like milk, since breastfeeding til 15 mos.) She said try Soy Milk. I tried the Vanilla kind and he did not like it, I tried it too in cereal one day and it was gross, so I can't blame him, maybe he would like plain, instead of vanilla ? After that didn't work, I tried straight up chocolate milk, better than none right? He doesn't like that either...I guess I could try chocolate Soy Milk, but I feel like that's my last option. Luckily he eats a decent amount of cheese...and he drinks a fruit smoothie or two nearly every day which has milk and protein Tofu in it, along with a bunch of fruit, oatmeal, and yogurt, YUM. We have both been enjoying these. I was making fruit smoothies before, just because I love them but now since the dr. said to do them more and put certain things in them for Marce, I get to have even more fruit smoothies, and don't feel so bad about buying a huge bag of strawberries at the store for 6 bucks!

When Brayden was turning 2 we were sure he was either lactose intolerant or milk allergic. He had chronic diarreah that nothing helped but getting rid of all milk products. It turned out he was niether, but "teething" intolerant. Anyway, my point is that not all soy milks are created equal! Silk is the cheaper soy milk, but has the worst taste out there. If you want to give it another try, buy 8th Continent brand, vanilla or choc flavors. Even Eric drank it when we needed it for Brayden, and he's SUPER picky about milk taste.
