I love anything my mom used to sing! Here's one of them.
I could have picked any Elton John song because I love pretty much anything he does, but I picked this one because this is the song my dad had playing in the car when I asked "Who is this? I love this." I was probably 13 or 14 and I have been a big fan ever since. This is still one of my favorites that he does. As far as ballads go, I love Sacrifice, it's so pretty.
My parents used to play these guys all the time on road trips. Us kids loved it!
My mom was so cool for liking these guys. She put this album on all the time at home and we girls would just dance ourselves silly! The whole album was just sweet!
My mom had Whitney Houston's debut album. It had this song on it and I loved it. I loved the whole album though. She's been making killer music ever since. I saw her live about 7 years ago. She's still singing like this! She was excellent live.
My mom also had this album and played it all the time, especially in the morning when she was getting ready for the day. This is by far my favorite Gloria Estefan song...isn't this horrible choreography? ha ha I hope she fired that choreographer...

30 Day Song Challenge
Day 16: "Your" song (you and your gf.bf, spouses song)...
I didn't start thinking about this til recently but Sharrid and I definitely have a song. We lived in Vegas for the first 6 months of our marriage. We were too poor to date and do fun things, but we used to go to record shops together after Shar got home from work. That was what we did for fun outside the apartment I guess you could say. It was more my thing but Sharrid was a great sport. He liked to find old stuff he grew up on too. We'd browse around, talk from across the store (we were usually the only ones in there), and then we'd meet up at the cash register with our goodies if any...
One time Shar bought a double disc CD mixed with old R&B and even some early hip hop. We'd play it in our apartment all the time and there was one song on there that we'd sing along to that just stuck because it was so darn funny to us. We would just laugh, we couldn't get through it. One of us would just be singing that song at some point and when it got to a certain part, we'd both just crack up laughing. I think you'll know what part. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is our song. Enjoy.

30 Day Song Challenge
Day 15: Your favorite song from your High School days...
When I was in High School, POP ruled. Even the rock had more pop sound to it than in previous years when Live, and Nirvana and groups like that were playing. Offspring, Blink 182, Green Day, and No Doubt to name a few, were the rock groups that were out when I was in High School. It was the Boy Band era. Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Destiny's Child, Spice Girls, and TLC were popular. I loved "No Scrubs" from TLC. Of course you had Britney, Christina, Shakira, JLo, and even Avril. Hip Hop was about to explode. Will Smith, Nelly, and Eminem were big.
On the rock side, Green Day is a definite winner for me. I still LOVE Green Day. As far as everything else...well it all comes down to NSYNC. I will still play NSYNC, and it still sounds good. Their stuff seemed to be more timeless than others, even though it was all just a phase. Those songs and videos can still hold up. I actually thought their videos were well done, which rarely happens for some reason (unless you are MJ) I have to give this win to NSYNC because before I dove deep into Michael (my senior year) it was NSYNC who made me realize that I could dance. I learned both of these dances and still love them. Plus, they were AWESOME live, and that's a must have in my opinion.

30 Day Song Challenge
Day 14: A duet you love...and my picks are...
This is from a 1998 performance. I found the song while browsing iTunes for Tracy Chapman. What's better than Tracy Chapman and Eric Clapton together?.....NOTHING. This is brilliant. Two incredible live performers. I love both of these artists so this was just too good for me. I listen to this song all the time.
I also listen to this song all the time. I don't watch the show Glee. I love the idea, just not the execution I guess. I usually like the original version of the songs they do, rather than their version...but this is a standout for me. This kid has the best voice on the show in my opinion. It's purely beautiful. And yeah, that last scene in the clip is hilarious...
I couldn't find anthing good for "The Girl Is Mine", so you get "Say Say Say".

The real reason I had to post this was because of Gladys Knight. Holy Smokes, she rocks! I love watching her and her hair! ha ha

New Pictures Of The Boys!
These are all so cute! I love this first one of Marce even though he isn't looking.
I LOVE Phoenix' face when he smiles his real smile! It's such a good looking face!
Amar'e is a month and a half in these pictures and he is a big boy!
Love this pouty face. He's probably getting sick of my flash. It's really bright.

Marce is about to lose his other front tooth! So many teeth coming loose! When he loses that, he'll have no 2 front or 2 bottom teeth left, just a big square hole ha ha
I think it's safe to say Amar'e is ALL Hill. Since the other two boys are mixes (in different ways) I told Sharrid we need one more baby...a girl that looks just like me! Then we'd have everything. ha ha

30 Day Song Challenge
Day 12: A song that you love, from a movie...and my picks are...
I LOVE this movie! I LOVE Doris Day and I LOVE Pat Carroll!! She does the voice of Ursula in The Little Mermaid. If you have not seen this movie, Netflix it, ect! It is a family favorite! It's called "With Six You Get Eggroll". This song reminds me of my Aunt Lisa for some reason. It's called "Feelins'" by the Grass Roots. This recording is not great obviously. Check it out on iTunes. They have a great sound, especially the bass.
Now if you haven't seen this movie, I really don't care to know you.....ha ha ha No seriously. The Sound Of Music is one of THE best movies of all time and it's timeless, it's for all time. Julie Andrews is one of the best vocalists of all time so it is odd I choose this song from the movie, but it is one of my favorite songs ever. I LOVE Christopher Plummer's expression at the end, it's so endearing. By the way, he does the voice of the old bad guy in Pixar's "Up". I sing this song to my babies all the time.
This is another favorite. I know it by heart and it speaks to me so much. This song breaks my heart. It's the most pivitol part in the movie. This movie has so many deep themes. This scene in the movie is perfect. I just think the song is perfectly written and the scene is perfectly directed. It just moves me. I love certain lines, they just pierce the heart, you know, especially when he finally realizes what he's doing, or not doing.
I love this song. Love her voice and she did release it on a normal cd rather than just the soundtrack. This is a silly movie I grew up on (Who didn't?) but a fantastic song that should be taken seriously. The piano part is so freakin' pretty! It just runs all over the place. I also sing this song to my babies at night.
Other picks: Where Is Love, from Oliver. A really pretty song from a movie everyone should see.
Schindler's List. This is one of my favorites from John Williams even though I have not seen the movie, the song is so pretty. My other favorites of his are the themes from Hook and Jurassic Park.
