My Current Crafty Project

Okay, so this is NOT the only project I am working on right now. Money wise, I am saving for our Stockton CA trip at the end of the summer, working hard at getting rid of our credit card, and also furnishing and decorating our house. Creatively, I have been spending a lot of my free time working on my music but I'll give that it's own post soon. I also have been reading good books. You can find my current read on my sidebar at all times.

This is my crafty project I'm working on though. In RS, we made flannel boards. It was completely free to do it and I know how great these are. If you grew up in the church in the 80's, you know that a flannel board is a great teaching tool!

You can buy these felt packs at Walmart. I've tested it and it stays put on the flannel pretty well. I've heard you can also use sand paper. This is for the back of your visual aides.
Here are my visual aides laminated with self laminating sheets (also at Walmart in the office isles). This is the organizer I got to put them all in when they are all cut out. I can organize them into sections. Here's what the visual aides look like before you cut them all out. The cutting is the tedious part! At the church's distribution website, you can buy packs of these by theme, for example they have People of the Scriptures, Food including Word of Wisdom, Animals - domestic and wild, and Nature. Among those they have many other themed packs. Each pack is about $6 and free shipping so I bought them all to get my collection going. I'm sure I can find more visual aides at Deseret Book or online. The other side of my flannel board is a marker board...cool huh? It folds in half as well in case you don't need the whole thing and for easy storage. Here is my beautiful flannel board!
