I heard about The Hunger Games shortly after it came out and everyone was reading it, but I was reading other stuff at the time. I had heard so much about it and the next book Catching Fire, that by the time I was ready to read them I just bought them both. Everyone I heard, every blog I saw about this book said it was phenomenal. Not just good, excellent. I don't have a Library card and I never can go to the Library. I prefer to listen to word of mouth and then make a choice to buy it or not. I have found this is a very good way of doing it. I have yet to buy a book I don't like. Needless to say, I am in love with The Hunger Games. Books like this make me so happy. I bought them, put them on the shelf til I was ready to read them, picked them up not long after that and finished both within days. I have decided not to read anything between now and the time the third book comes out. I am just thinking, soaking it all in and trying to talk to everyone about them, to analyze I guess and get others' opinions about everything Hunger Games! Happy day when Mockingjay comes out on August 24th!!

So I am excited for the movies, it's just fun for me. Of course the closer the movie is to the book the better. But if it turns out that it's off or not lining up whether it's casting or setting or screenplay, it's something I'd probably just ignore but they usually do a decent job.
The first movie The Hunger Games is supposed to come out in 2011!
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THESE BOOKS, GET ON IT! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

Amen. I'm getting the books from Amazon TODAY! I'm waiting for the door to ring. I know Gavin will love The Hunger Games just as much as I did. It'll be hard to wait to read Catching Fire, but I'll have to endure it. Good thing Mocking Jay comes out soon!
Yeah seriously, one of the things I love about these book is that they are extremly gender friendly. Guys and girls alike should love these equally, which is awesome!
I've really been wanting to read these. And I totally agree with you. Movies never ruin books for me because I don't let them. I enjoy them separately.
exactly, you don't let them, enjoy them seperately, exactly how I feel.
We're going out of town in a week and I thought this would be a great series to start up with Chad while we're driving. Can't wait to start them.
I agree with you 100% on book movies. To me it's just a little seasoning to an already delicious cuisine.
I have been meaning to read these books FOREVER. I was on the waiting list at the library and when it finally came to be my turn I was out of town and missed the pick up date...anyway, I figured I would just read them all when the third comes out because I hate to be left hanging. Glad to know you liked them! I feel the same when it comes to books turned into movies. The books are always better, but I appreciate the movies as something totally seperate.
I absolutely love the hunger games series!! I am also super stoked for the third one to come out.
As for Charlie St.Cloud. I thought that it would be fun wispy and deep as well, but for me it would start going that way and then stop. I thought they had a very good idea and a lot of potential, but the execution just wasn't there for me. I don't know, see what you think about it.
