Hello, feel free to keep dropping by. My blog is kind of going through an overhaul. My sister is going to be making me a header and I will most likely change the name of my blog just for fun.
Sharrid and I are slowly planning a trip to Utah with no kids. So we will be going if all works out this next year probably late summerish time. We want it to be all planned out and we are overwhelmed with the amount of things to do in Utah, especially since we want our trip to be a real adventurous/outdoorsy one. We want the best for our time there so we want to know what the best things are to do, and the best places to go. We're not planning on doing a lot of churchy tours and stuff. We want to DO stuff on our trip rather than just SEE stuff so if you know the fun things about Utah, drop a comment.
We're planning on going right up the 15, so don't bother with anything too far out, like Moab or Manti. We might camp for some of the trip, we haven't decided. We would like to spend the majority of the time up north where you can hike and camp and go to National Parks. Again, we need any help we can get with planning and preparations because neither of us are from Utah. Thank you for any help or suggestions you can offer.
Some of the things I've found through research so far are: The Lion House pantry, FastKart Indoor Speedway, Olympic Cauldron Park, and Sweet Candy Factory....if any of these are worth experiencing....or aren't....please give your input.

Sounds like fun! If you are going to head up North you should definitely try to go to Logan. You'd have to go about thirty min of I-15 to get there but it's worth it. You can go to the dairy on USU campus and get awesome ice cream plus you can do tons of hiking up Logan Canyon and even go thirty more minutes to Bear Lake. It's gorgeous and sparkling blue during the summer. You could also go up to Park City and ride the Alpine Slide and do some hiking as well. Kennecott Copper Mine is another reallly cool thing to do that is about 30 - 40 min west of I-15 and the new temple that was just dedicated. Hope you have fun!
Hey Lex
Scott and I have gone to rock candy mountain with your parents, at least for me not really worth seeing, to out of the way and nothing to really see, its not that big of a deal, except to say that you have been there. But if you go to St. George, then go to the Lava cave up in Pine valley if you havent done that yet.Its a little hike to the cave but i think worth seeing.
We have family 15 minutes from Rock Candy Mountain and I agree, not worth the stop. But if you are going to loop that way through Richfield, it's worth it just to stop at Ideal Dairy. Best shakes in Utah... Fresh Strawberry is to die for.
Things that were "must do" items on our last Utah trip were hiking Mt. Timpanogos and eating at Tucano's. Driving the alpine loop behind Timp is awesome and beautiful, especially for us desert dwellers! Another hike that's much easier than Timp is Stewart Falls (same parking lot) or Eric's family favorite growing up Donut Falls (in one of the Cottonwood Canyons up north). If I think of anything else, I'll definately let you know!
thank you so much everybody on the blog and facebook. I feel like an idiot kind of. I have been to Utah millions of times and are pretty familiar with where all the little cities are, but not where all the hikes and landmarks and lakes, and canyons and all that are! I'm overwhelmed and will have to research and map out all of you ideas, thank you....and don't be surprised if you get an email or call from me in the future! ha ha
Wes, I agree- TUCANO'S! But then again, Sharrid might not deem it worthy...I don't get how a guy who likes food so much can be so picky! And definitely drive the Alpine Loop. It's not even out of the way... Maybe pick a temple you haven't been to and do a session. If you haven't done a live session at SL Temple, that would be cool.
yeah, well shar would be picky of Tucano's because he served in Brasil. But yeah it's hard to pick a Temple to go to because I haven't been to any of them up there, there's so many...the obvious choice would probably be SL, I don't know. My all time fave Temple is San Diego so I really don't care which one we'd go to...maybe I'll let Shar pick one...
Chad served in Brazil and he doesn't mind Tucano's! It's as close as you will get to authentic brazillian cuisine. I would recommend giving that a try.
I'll have to talk to Chad and see what he recommends you visit. One thing we do every year is go to Flaming Gorge and go caving. You could also run the green river while you are up there.
I try to think of some other things too.
