Phoenix' 12 Month Wellness

Okay guys, first of all I just want to say regarding Marcelus and my picking out the clothes issue that I have no problem letting him pick out his own clothes. He is growing up and is doing all the great things that a 3 year old does. Yes, it would bother me if he didn't match and I would make him change but most days around here in the summer time he doesn't even wear clothes, it's so hot! When he does, he can pick them out as long as they match. I do have a problem with him leaving certain clothes in the drawer and never picking them and never wearing them. That's a waste to me. I don't mind him picking his own, but I want him to rotate them so they all get worn at least. We'll see how it goes. I can bribe him with a sucker to wear the clothes that he never picks once in a while, then we both are happy. He has a sucker for that day...and I don't feel like his clothes are being wasted. At least I still get to shop for the clothes. That's funner than picking his outfit out anyway.

Now, today Phoenix had his 12 month wellness with a doctor we've been seeing lately at our office, Dr. Jafri. She is awesome! I'm not sure exactly what Nationality she is but there are a lot of really good doctors (in all fields) that are not originally from our country. She is really energetic and candid. Phoenix had to get shots in both arms today and a prick in the finger to check Hemoglobin which was perfect. He barely cried with the shots and then knocked out on the way home.

I talked to the doctor about his development which seems to be great. She asked about his speech, motor skills, mobility, and understanding. I told her he's starting to try and say some words that only I can understand probably. His mobility is well above average. He's done everything early in that category and was climbing onto the kitchen table before he was even 12 months! I told her that I know he understands everything because of his attitude. Yes, he already has a pretty big attitude. His percentages are as follows: Head-69% Weight-22% Height-98%. She said he was very tall for his age, thanks to daddy. I was surprised to see his head go down from the 90's to the 69%! It still seems like his head is so huge!

We also talked about his diet and that I've completely weened him but that he still isn't drinking a lot of milk. She told me it was fine because he eats a Yoplait yogurt everyday, sometimes more than one. She said I could try and add Carnation Instant Breakfast to his milk and that kids usually liked that and it had good calories in it that could help with the low milk intake. She was not worried about his weight though because of what I told her of his diet. He eats all the time and begs for everything! He's the biggest moocher even when he's already had his own. For breakfast for instance, Phoenix eats an egg, a piece of bacon, and some bites of oatmeal, that's after he's already eaten some cereal or a yogurt earlier. Dr. Jafri was impressed that he liked eggs but I told her he will eat anything! He does eat a lot for just 12 months and Marce is starting to eat more too. Marcelus' chest is getting a lot bigger right now. I can literally see that it's growing every day. Also his thighs (I know this cause I rub his feet and legs every night before bed). I feel like we're being eaten out of house and home with these two. Sometimes Marce asks for so many snacks late in the day, I wonder if he does it just for attention.

Anyway that was the appointment. Yay for Phoenix! We'll see the doctor again late in August for 15 month wellness and some more shots.

Keagan had his 6 mo. appointment today. He's so far my tallest baby. 90th percentile! Elden and Bennett have always been 50th. We'll see if it sticks.
