Why don't they sell these...

in a box this size?
I like the Parmesan Goldfish the best but the problem is I can down one bag in like 5 minutes! It's kind of like how I always wonder why these guys...

don't sell their ice cream out of a container this size at your local grocery store. No, instead you have to wait for a special time when you are at the mall, or Wet 'n' Wild, or a country fair to be ripped off when they give you a tiny little cup for 5 bucks!

Even a container this size! Why not? They say it is the ice cream of the future, but it's not going to be unless they make it more available to the public. Stupid stupid people!! They are ripping everybody off! I hope someday they will sell them in a decent size, even out of the mall, or whatever, but give me more than a half cup will you?

Homemade Can Rotating Racks

So if you've been studying Emergency Prep like I have lately, we know that probably the best way to successfully rotate your food, at least your canned goods whatever size the can, is to use a can rotating rack. I have heard they are expensive. My good friend's husband has made them out of light weight wood himself but has not figured out how to market them. I have seen them and they are SWEET! I have also seen the plastic kind that are hooked right into a pantry shelf or cupboard. These look like the ones that the cans at the grocery store rotate through. I have also come across a website called www.shelfreliance.com that has big bookshelf looking racks that rotate the cans. These are super expensive. If you have the money, great....but if not, I think there are other alternatives. Here are step by step directions on how to make your own using a cardboard box, an exact-o knife, and some glue. You can stick them right in your pantry or cupboard. I am going to get Sharrid to help me with these as soon as we move...well, we'll have plenty of boxes anyway! I think everybody should try this. It's a great way that doesn't rip you off to rotate your food storage!

Courtship In 6 Words

Erin had this on a blog and I wanted to try it so here is mine and I think anyone who wants to do this should, they are fun to read.

The Boys' Numbers

Both Marcelus and Phoenix had Drs. appts. today for 3 year wellness and 9 month wellness. Marce got a Hep A shot but Phoenix did not have to get any. They are definitely impressed that Phoenix is starting to walk. Also happy that Marce is learning so much academically right now. Here are their stats physically:

Marcelus
Height - 38 1/4" 71%
Weight - 28.7 pounds 17%

Phoenix
Height - 29 1/2" 80%
Weight 19.12 pounds 34%

They also said that Phoenix has a big head and that he's at the 90th percentile for it! Phoenix has thinned out since he's become mobile and the weight numbers reduction speaks for that when you look at the percentage he is now, and the percentage he used to be (in the 90's!) He's holding strong on the tall side, as well as Marcelus. I am also happy to see Marcelus up a little in the weight department! 17% is good for him! After looking at Phoenix today in his diaper, I told Shar that although I think Phoenix will be tall and probably even bigger than Marce in the long run, I still think he'll be thin...so to all of you who love those huge cheeks and that roley poley butterball. I'm sorry but I just don't think he's stickin' around. He has totally thinned out and will probably continue to.

Don't Like Sloppy Joes?

Try this:

Take your hamburger buns and toast them. Spray a cake pan with Pam and butter your buns, then sprinkle a decent amount of garlic powder and Parmesan cheese on top.

Mmmm, this is what they'll look like when they come out. Makes it a lot better I think!

Then you have a hot Sloppy Joe all the way around with more taste and add a yogurt or an applesauce for a side and wash it down with Koolade! Perfect Friday night dinner!

My mom made Sloppy Joes every once in a while for dinner but Shar once mentioned he did not like them so I never made them the whole time we've been married. Recently I found out that Shar has never even had them and that he just "assumed" he wouldn't like them. Well, I like them so I made them so he could try them and...he likes them, and so does Marce so here's to Sloppy Joes...with a kick!

Ma & Pa

Sharrid got these pants for Christmas from my parents. We just barely got around to getting to the tailor to have them hemmed. We go to this little Chinese woman and she does a really great job. I told Shar I wanted a few pictures of him before he got out of his Sunday clothes. He started posing and this is what I got!


I got this skirt at DI (of course) about 2 months ago for $4. It's hangin' on a wing and a prayer but I am in desperate need of church clothes, and actually both Shar and I are in need of clothes period! The shirt I recently got at Ross for $7. I don't know if you can see the details of it cause it's so dark, but I love it! I apologize for the really skinny white legs!! You can't win 'em all. Also, I don't like my hair right now. I am growing it out for my hubby and it's at a pretty ugly phase. The skirt come to think of it is kind of plain and boring for this particular shirt but I am limited. It's the only thing I have that can even pull it off. I got a couple other articles of clothing at DI for church so maybe I'll post pics again next week.

My Latest DI Finds...

One of my main hobbies is bargain shopping I guess you would call it. It's a great hobby to develop in this recession we are in! We go to DI about twice a month. We have saved so much already on clothes, books, toys, and anything else that I could use. Here are my latest finds:

I am wearing two different pairs of jeans in these pictures to model them.
I believe the first 3 pictures are a pair of Abercrombie jeans I got for $5 at DI. The last picture with jeans are a pair of Gap jeans I again got for $5. I love them both. They fit great!

These are a few baskets I got at the DI. The two on the right I am using for the boys' Easter. The one on the left I just thought was cute and maybe I could figure something out with it for decorating the house. Any ideas? DI always has a lot of baskets.

This is a plastic plate. My sister Connie collects them and I have started to too.

I need more of these because we have switched from buying juice in bottles, to buying the juice concentrates and making them up ourselves to try and save some money. Plus, once in a while I buy Koolade! 50 cents at DI!

There you have it. Obviously I have not taken a picture of everything that I've bought but we are always finding good stuff there!
